According to naturopathic doctors Leaky Gut Syndrome can be the root cause of many of your chronic symptoms such as pain, digestive disorders, frequent infections, and skin disorders. Naturopathic doctors often say that conventional drug methods of treatments only treating the symptoms without discovering the underlying condition.

Leaky gut syndrome simply refers to a "leaky gut". It is the increased permeability of the intestinal lining which has become damaged. What has caused the lining to become inflamed and damaged is possibly due to an overuse of antibiotics, dietary problems, toxins, or infection. The result of an increased permeability means that the lining does not absorb nutrients selectively, but material can leak through the wall. Hence, materials such as toxins, undigested food, waste, or other matter to pass through the intestinal lining. This can cause inflammation and will ultimately affect the functionality of the digestive tract.

Leaky gut syndrome symptoms can include the following signs: - Gas - Indigestion - Poor immune system - Diarrhea - Constipation - Abdominal pain - Chronic pain in joints and/or muscles - Foggy thinking, anxiety, mood issues, and/or memory problems - Fatigue - Respiratory problems such as asthma or wheezing - Skin disorders

This problem plus others may be occurring because of what I call a “Hurry Up” Spirit. If you feel you must always be in a hurry to get something done, it’s possible you may have this spirit. If so, it’s time to get rid of it. Simply go through the following outline and do what it says:

The beginning of all healing of spiritually rooted disease is: 1. Reconciliation with Yah and His Love, receiving His Love, reconciliation with Him as your Father, and making your peace with Him through Yahshua. 2. Reconciliation of you with yourself 3. And reconciliation of you and others. This requires forgiveness or freeing above all things of yourself, others and Yahuah (when you feel he has not treated you right.- which, of course, is never true but sometimes we think it is.)

Col 3:12, “Therefore, as chosen ones of Elohim, set-apart and beloved, put on compassion, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, patience, 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other if anyone has a complaint against another, indeed, as Messiah forgave you so also should you. 14 But above all these put on love, which is a bond of the perfection.” It is not always possible to be reconciled to others so do the best you can. Reconciliation means to be mutually changed. That means to be able to be reconciled requires 2 parties agreeing to change in order for peace to ensue. If one party refuses to change or accept you then all you can do is be reconciled to Yah and yourself and know you did the best you could to be reconciled to the other party.

9 R’s to Freedom

1. Recognize (the offense you have or have not done) Heb 10:32, “But remember the former days, when, after you were enlightened, you endured a great struggle with sufferings.” 2. Responsibility (take responsibility for the offense you recognize) Jas 4:17, “To him, then, who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is wrongdoing.” 3. Repent (turn around and go in the other direction with the offense you now recognize) Rom 2:4, “Or do you despise the riches of His kindness, and tolerance, and patience, not knowing that the kindness of Elohim leads you to change your mind and turn around?” 4. Renounce (make the offense you recognize your enemy and renounce it) Tit 2:12, “instructing us to renounce wickedness and worldly lusts, and to live sensibly, righteously, and reverently in the present age,” This is where you must start to renew your mind and not receive the lies of the enemy. 5. Remove it (continue to remove the offense from your mind by verbally speaking to it) 2Co 10:5, “overthrowing reasonings and every high matter that exalts itself against the knowledge of Elohim, taking captive every thought to make it obedient to the Messiah,” 6. Resist (when it tries to come back, resist it after yielding to Yah) Jas 4:7, “So then subject yourselves to Elohim. Resist the adversary and he shall flee from you.” 7. Rejoice (give Yah thanks for setting you free from offending) 2Co 13:11, “For the rest, brothers, rejoice. Be made perfect, b e encouraged, be of one mind, live in peace. And the Elohim of love and peace shall be with you” 8. Replace (Replace any negative thoughts and words-curses you have been speaking about others or yourself with positive good thoughts and blessings.) Philippians 4:8, “For the rest, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is righteous, whatever is clean, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good report, if there is any uprightness and if there is any praise – think on these.” 1Peter 3:9, “not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, in order to inherit a blessing.” 9. Restore (help someone else get free from similar offenses) 2Co 5:19, “that is, that Elohim was in Messiah restoring the world to favour unto Himself, not reckoning their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of restoration to favour.”

Doctors can diagnose a problem that you might have but they are not equipped to deal with incurable diseases because: 1. 80% of incurable diseases are psychosomatic and spiritually rooted. 2. Doctors have not been trained concerning the roots of disease. 3. Doctors don’t understand the connection between sin and disease. 4. Yah did not set up doctors to bypass the penalty of the curse (Deut. 28) with disease management and drugs.

Below are some suggested nutritional solutions for leaky gut:

Ongoing research continues to unveil more useful information about what foods support and encourage healing in the gut. These include:

1. Beans have a high-protein content making them a rich source of glutamine. Glutamine is an amino acid important for maintaining structure and function of the intestine, as well as metabolism. Glutamine has been shown to improve mucosal damage from radiation and chemotherapy, for example. Other good vegetable sources include cabbage, spinach and parsley. Raw vegetables will contain better stores than cooked versions.

2. Food sources of cysteine include egg yolks, raw red peppers, garlic, onions, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, oats, and wheat germ. For Methionine eating raw and dried spirulina seaweed is a good bet, supplying 800 to 900 mg per 200-calorie serving, and raw laver seaweed also contains over 800 mg. Raw turnip greens, spinach, asparagus, bamboo shoots, raw zucchini and raw watercress provide between 300 and 530 mg of methionine per 200-calorie serving. Several types of beans provide around 200 mg, including cowpeas, black beans, great northern beans and kidney beans. Methionine and N-acetyl cysteine. These are sulfur- containing amino acid precursors to glutathione (GSH), a key antioxidant for protecting cells from free-radical damage.

3. Raw Sesame seed flour is high in methionine, with the low-fat version at nearly 1,000 mg per 200-calorie serving and partially defatted at nearly 700 mg. Raw Sunflower seed flour supplies 640 mg, and sunflower seed kernels about 170 mg. Raw Pumpkin and squash seeds have about 280 mg, while roasted cashews and pistachio nuts have about 120 mg.

4. Derivative nutrients from the Larch conifer have immunologic, metabolic, and growth-factor benefits for healing leaky gut called arabinogalactan. Arabinogalactan is found in foods like lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, peaches, pears, and radishes. And in Echinacea, mistletoe, ginseng and other medicinally important plants.

5. Kiwifruit encourages the epithelial cells in the mucosal barrier to proliferate, and for this reason helps heal existing damage from leaky gut. 6. Pumpkin and squash seeds, sesame seeds or tahini, and watermelon seeds contain high amounts of zinc which has been shown to “tighten up” the leakiness of a hyperpermeable intestine — and helps prevent its recurrence. So demand that your grocer get watermelons with the seeds in them so we can get our zinc.

7. Slow down and chew your food well. Take the time to sit down to your meals, and don’t rush through them. Digestive enzyme supplements help, but there’s nothing better than the habit of chewing food slowly and completely, because digestion starts with enzymes in your saliva. Wolfing down meals and swallowing unchewed food makes your digestive system work much harder than necessary. One of the things that will help during this time is to drink smoothies instead of eat whole food. Make green smoothies with fruit and green leafy vegetables that will be easy for you to digest and highly nutritious. For many green smoothie recipes get my “Debi’s Yahsom, Rawsom Uncookbook.”

8. Avoid foods such as gluten, dairy and yeast, as well as sugar, and give the gut a break from the major trigger foods that exacerbate leaky gut. By the end of the two-week cleanse, you will find that your whole digestive process runs more smoothly, and there should be a noticeable reduction in symptoms.

9. Rebalancing your gut flora throughout the GI tract is crucial, and it’s important to maintain that healthy balance. A well-formulated probiotic supplement is indispensable for treatment of leaky gut, and can help stabilize your overall digestive environment. While fiber intake is a major ingredient for good microbial balance, some people with leaky gut cannot tolerate additional fiber at first. You can gradually increase dietary fiber by eating more “tender” fruits and vegetables (bananas, pears, raw pureed applesauce, well-pureed squash, and the like). Once healing is well under way, you can add in more fiber.

10.Investigate digestive aids that will coat the intestines and protect the lining from further damage. This gives your body’s innate healing powers the opportunity to go to work and recover the integrity that your intestinal mucosal barrier needs to be fully functional.
