Official Competition Rules

Official Competition Rules Rules for Rocky Creek ATV “ Da' Baddest Mudda' “ The Mud Bog will be held on a rectangular course with varying depths of primarily water with a soft bottom. Participants will enter the track two or more ATVs at a time and participate in side-by-side elimination style heats until the final race for the winners. Depending on the number of entrants and Rocky Creek’s discretion as to the proper number of participants at one time, heat races will be conducted and the winners will move on toward the final race. The course will be primarily muddy water with some small amount of mud at the bottom. The depth will be approximately 1’ to 4’ at the deepest point and most of the course will be 2 to 3 feet with underwater humps and holes. Snorkels and extended vent lines are highly recommended as the depth of the water could exceed the height of the air intake on some ATVs. It should be clear to everyone that this is an event that if the machine is not properly prepared, serious damage to the engine or other components occur. Participants will enter and compete at their own risk. Riders should be skilled in deep water riding. Classes 500 cc or less: for ATVs which are essentially stock or lightly modified with manufacturers designation of 500 cc's or less. These machines may include the same performance items as specified in the stock class mud bog rules, which typically include performance pipes, jet kits. Oversize ATV mud tires or Ag tires up to 30” and items typically installed on bikes ridden in the mud. There will be no separate distinction for IRS, solid rear axle or 2x4 or 4x4 ATVs as ground clearance is not a large advantage since the front tire will rarely be on the bottom. More than 500 cc: This class will be ATVs with the same type equipment but with engines of 500 cc’s or more. There will be no separate distinction for IRS, solid rear axle or 2x4 or 4x4 ATVs as ground clearance is not a large advantage since the front tire will rarely be on the bottom. OPEN: The final class will be an Open class and include any ATV which has equipment such as paddles, extreme lift kits (more than 2 inches suspension lift), ag or other tires taller than 30” nitrous oxide, alcohol burning engine or other device which in the judgment of HL would make for unfair competition in the stock class. If there are at least 3 entrants in the RUV class, there will be a class for them. If so the class will be an open style class. Rules for Kiddie Bog The rules for conduct of the competition will be the same as the Mud Bog. Class 1: will be for machines 50cc to 125cc as determined by the manufacturers designation. No ATV larger than a 125 will be allowed to compete in this event. Class 2: will be for machines up to 400cc and will include riders 14-15. No ATVs larger than 400 cc's will be allowed to compete in this event. This division is NOT an & OPEN CLASS. Please remember that this event is designed so that younger riders have a chance to feel the adrenaline of competition and is meant to promote healthy riding under these conditions and good sportsmanship for the next generation of mud rider. There is no restriction on tires however the machine must be essentially stock to compete. Rocky Creek reserves the right to exclude any machine that is equipped with any device that would tend to make for unfair competition. ATVs with devices such as paddles will not be permitted to compete. Participants must wear helmets and the parent or guardian of each participant must be present at the event and be prepared to render assistance to the participant should it be needed. By entering this event, parents are certifying that they have inspected the course in advance of the event and that the child is of sufficient age and experience to operate his machine and negotiate the course and release Rocky Creek ATV Trail, all sponsors, officials and other participants of any liability in connection with accidents or injury that occur in connection with the event. Maximum age permitted to enter class 1 is 12. Maximum age to enter class 2 is 15. In the event that any participant is observed operating his machine in an unsafe manner he may be disqualified and excluded from competition. Participants will otherwise operate with the same rules as the adult mud Bogs concerning assistance, boundaries, false starts and pushing of their machines. Depending on the number of entrants in each class, heats will include up to 3 participants per heat. Helmets are required. Disqualification for going out of bounds. Keep at least one foot on the bike at all times. Disqualification once outside assistance is rendered to a stuck or disabled machine. Unsportsman like conduct will result in disqualification. This would include such actions as intentionally pushing a competitor off course or other conduct which was intentional and beyond that which is customary in side by side racing. Restarts with penalty for false starts and disqualification for the second false start in one heat. Decisions of the judges are final.
