Midweek Action: In the Premier Division on Tuesday evening, Cadbury Heath came from behind to claim a 1-1 draw at Brislington. Ben Harris fired Brislington ahead ten minutes into the second half, before Simon McElroy grabbed an equaliser for the Heath. On Wednesday, a goal in either half from Craig Veal and Brad Ausden led Willand Rovers to a 2- 0 win at home to Hengrove Athletic. In the First Division, Kyle Box and Matt Brown were among the scorers as Keynsham Town claimed a 3-2 win away at Ashton & Backwell United.

Despite taking a one-goal lead through George Mapletoft, Sherborne Town were knocked out in the first round of the Dorset Senior Cup, going down to a 2-1 defeat at Verwood Town. There was better news for Bridport the following evening, with an early double from Mark Salter helping them to a 2-0 win over three-time winners, and current cup holders Weymouth.

Premier Division: Cadbury Heath pulled off a remarkable late fightback to defeat Buckland Athletic 3-2 at Homers Heath. Gavin Hammon gave Buckland the lead on the half hour mark, with Jared Lewington then doubling the hosts’ advantage early in the second half. With less than 30 minutes left on the clock, Cadbury were staring down the barrel, before two goals from George Boon and a strike from Sacha Tong helped them to turn the game on its head as they left with all three points. Street maintained their three point lead at the top of the table, with Steve Murray scoring either side of half-time in their 2-0 victory over Shepton Mallet. Willand Rovers have now won four of their previous five league games, after romping to a 4-0 triumph at home to Brislington. Craig Veale headed them ahead in the sixth minute, with Luke Alden then doubling the lead after James Blake had had a penalty saved for the hosts. Veale grabbed his second of the game just after the hour mark, before Brad Ausden completed the scoring 20 minutes from time. Bradford Town held on to defeat Hengrove Athletic 2-1 thanks to a pair of goals close to half-time. In first-half stoppage time, Alex Monks knocked home a penalty to put Bradford ahead, and then in the early stages of the second half they increased their lead through Sam Jordan. Hengrove pulled a goal back on the hour mark through Ben Crewe, but they failed to find an equaliser as Bradford held out for all three points. Melksham Town’s strong home form continued, with Ryan Bole scoring the only goal of the game during the second period in their 1-0 win over Clevedon Town who had Ollie Barnes red-carded late on. In the battle between the bottom two, Wells City moved seven points clear of Longwell Green Sports, after goals from Harry Davidson and Brendon Abood led them to a 2-0 win. There was also a 2-0 victory for Odd Down at home to Wellington, with Asa White and James Dunn each scoring before the break. Bridgwater Town made it three away wins on the bounce, after goals from Shaun Copp, Harry Horton and Ryan Burrows fired them to a 3-0 triumph over Cribbs at The Lawns. Goals in either half from Aaron Anglin and Tom Bradley helped Hallen defeat Chipping Sodbury Town 2-1, after they had fallen behind to an early strike from Jonathan Morgan.

First Division: Chris Pile scored for the sixth consecutive game to lead Welton Rovers to a 2-0 win at home to Malmesbury Victoria. Pile opened the scoring five minutes after the break, before adding a second late on as Welton moved up to third. Westbury United remain top of the table despite falling to a 1-0 defeat at home to Calne Town for whom Stuart Windsor was the goalscoring hero 11 minutes from time. Second-placed Cheddar had Robbi Maggs to thank for the goal in their 1-0 win at home to Almondsbury, while a brace from Dan Wise, plus a goal from Gary Chapman saw Wincanton Town defeat Bristol Telephones 3-0. Alex Stafie equalised in the 32nd minute for Chard Town during their 1-1 draw with Keynsham Town who had taken an early lead through Cameron Shorney. Devizes Town fought back from two goals down to claim a 2-2 draw with Roman Glass St George. The visitors were two-up at Nursteed Road thanks to a long range effort from Joe Swift and a headed finish from Ryan Radford. Devizes then got back into the game just before half-time through Jake Roberts, before claiming a share of the points when Jake Walters slotted home a penalty during the second half. Radstock Town continued their rampant form at the Southfields Rec, with a brace from Jack Biddiscombe sandwiched by goals from Matt Minnis and James Rustell in their 4-2 win at home to Portishead Town. Billy Cookson played an influential role in Corsham Town’s 2-1 win away at Bishop Sutton. After laying on the assist for Ben Wickens opener, Cookson then scored a terrific winner midway through the second half after the hosts had got back on level terms. Two goals after half-time from Olly Trevarthen followed an opener from Josh Southway as Oldland Abbotonians claimed a 3-1 victory away at Bishops Lydeard. Sherborne Town are no longer bottom of the table, after they claimed an impressive 4-2 win away at Chippenham Park. Ben Pring and Ryan Tyrell bagged goals for the hosts, but they were outdone by Sherborne for whom Harry Vanderville scored twice alongside goals from Marc Caines and Elliott Mann. Paul Uppington was another man to score a brace, adding to goals from Sam Thomas and Sol Shearer in Ashton & Backwell United’s 4-3 win away at Warminster Town.
