TRIALOG Central Training, Tallinn, March 26-27, 2007

1. The main success of the platform was that majority of its mambers become very committed to the platform and recognised its neutral role as necessary. Due to that we were able to gain very important attention of MFA and started very necessary close cooperation with them (this was as well due to strong EU support - from Trialog, Concord and some EC representatives). Platform have managed to certain extent to involve for cooperation three big NGDOs - Karitas and Missionary centre, Unicef, Red Cross. Anyway main weakness was that platfom was not having mechanisms for authorizing Sloga representatives to EU level bodies (WGs, ...). It was as well very problematic that Trialog and Concord have not relied to national platform info channel only but to others as well, and than asking Platform to select and confirm representatives. Another platform weakness was to distinguish among members and non-members and to deliver different services to all of them. Possible solution: Trialog and Concord primarily rely to NP for further redistribution of information. Thus, platform could assure selection of appropriate candidates for international WG participation and Platforms would gain real services to be able to strengthen cooperation on national level.

2. Main challenge for Sloga will be to strengthen cooperation with key decision makers on national and EU level and remain it such level. As well platform will need to develop certain services which will offer to members and those which will be offered to non members - very important that platform assure as broad cooperation of all interested NGOs as possible but at the same time to offer sth added value to member organizations (who will be paying membership fee). Another challenge for Sloga will be forthcomming presidency and national preparation to it.
