Kendriya Vidyalaya Jayant is located in the east of M.P., 5 kms. from M.P. and U.P. border (Distt Sonbhdra). It is a project school sponsored by Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a subsidiary of Coal India.

Jayant is one of the projects of NCL and is proud to have the biggest open cast coal mines in Asia. It is also known as the Energy Capital of India.

KV Jayant Colliery is located in the residential colony of Central Workshop, opposite to officer’s club and dispensary It is approximately 16 kms from Singrauli Railway Station and 5 kms from Shaktinagar Railway Station (UP). Autos and taxis are easily available to help anyone reach the school.

Taxi charges are Rs. 250/- from Singrauli Railway Station and Rs. 100 from Shaktinagar Rly. Station. It is 232 kms from Varanasi Airport

FACILITIES OF RESIDENCE: 100 % residential facility is available for KV staff members which is provided by project authorities with 24x7 electricity and water supply. STATUS OF MEDICAL FACILITIES FOR SELF AND FAMILY :

There is a dispensary opposite to school building and a hospital, Nehru Shatabdi Chikitsalay (NSC) at a distance of 1.5 kms from School.

Medical card is issued to all the KV Staff and to their dependent family members which helps them to avail medical facilities from dispensary and NSC. AVAILABILTY OF ESSENTIAL COMMODITIES:

There are few markets namely Indira market, Laxmi market, Gole market, Shankar market etc. in the locality where the essential commodities of daily use are easily available.

CLIMATIC CONDITION: This place enjoys moderate temperature surrounded with lush green scenic beauty. This area is very peaceful. Student comes in school buses from different project and local area.

SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT OF THE AREA: This area enjoys coal culture which means that its employees come from different parts of India. As a result all the festivals are celebrated with full enthusiasm and zeal. This helps to learn and enjoy vide range of culture and traditions of India.
