DAY IN SOUTH CAROLINA. 14 Amend Title To Conform 15 16 Whereas, Harley Davidson established the Harley Owners Group, 17 H.O.G., in 1983 in response to a growing desire by Harley riders 18 for an organized way to share their passion and show their pride; 19 and 20 21 Whereas, in 1991, H.O.G. officially expanded internationally, with 22 the first official European H.O.G. Rally held in Cheltenham, 23 England; and 24 25 Whereas, today, more than one million members make the Harley 26 Owners Group the largest factory-sponsored motorcycle 27 organization in the world; and 28 29 Whereas, the nine H.O.G. local chapters in South Carolina are 30 located in Anderson, Charleston, Columbia, Florence, Greenville, 31 Irmo, Myrtle Beach, Rock Hill, and Spartanburg. Together, the 32 chapters boast a membership of over eleven thousand Harley 33 enthusiasts; and 34 35 Whereas, the South Carolina State H.O.G. Rally is held annually 36 on a rotating basis in cities around the State; and 37 38 Whereas, united under their mission, “To Ride and Have Fun”, 39 H.O.G. members come together from all walks of life to share in 40 their love for motorcycles. 1 [3955] 1 1 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate 2 concurring: 3 4 That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South 5 Carolina, by this resolution, honor and recognize the Harley 6 Owners Group of South Carolina and proclaim September 22, 7 2007, H.O.G. day in South Carolina. 8 ----XX---- 9
