Inclusivity Week - 11th - 15th April 2016

Calderdale is launching its first Inclusivity Week to celebrate diversity and share good practice and demonstrating how we support the community to live, learn, work and play together. It will support colleagues to showcase how inclusion underpins the values and behaviours of the Council through active adaptation and change to practices and services, reducing inequalities that maybe present.

This week kicks off a series of events that will raise awareness, aims to reduce inequalities, and will help ensure that we are meeting the needs of our ever-evolving communities.

Our Equality duties require that we actively work to eliminate discrimination and create equal opportunities to develop good working relationships amongst different people. If we are to champion Inclusivity, we must recognise and celebrate the diversity of our staff and community and identify how we can improve relationships by supporting people to live, learn, work and play together.
