GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE ARAB REPUBLIC OF EGYPT (ARE) EL KUREIMAT COMBINED CYCLE POWER PLANT PROJECT (MODULE II)

The Arab Republic of Egypt (ARE) has received a loan from the African Development Bank (ADB) amounting UA 154.3 million (Euro 175.91 million) to partly finance the foreign exchange cost of El Kureimat Combined Cycle (CC) Power Plant Project (Module II).

The Project objective is to increase generation capacity in the Unified Power System (UPS) to partly meet the electricity demand in the short-to-medium term. The project involves the construction of 750 MW (2x250 MW gas turbine and 1x250 MW steam turbine) CC power plant in the premises of the existing El Kureimat Steam Power Station. The project components comprise:

A. Civil Works E. Supply and Installation of Switchyard, B. Supply and Installation of Gas Turbine F. Supply and Installation of Environmental Generator Monitoring Equipment C. Supply and Installation of Steam Turbine G. Wrap Up Insurance D. Supply and Installation of Heat Recovery H. Project Management. Steam Generator

The Bank will finance the foreign exchange cost of components B, C, D, E and F while the foreign cost of components A, G and H as well as all local costs will be financed by the Upper Egypt Electric Production Company (UEEPC) of the affiliated Company of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company (EEHC). The procurement of the components financed by the Bank will be through International Competitive Bidding (ICB) in accordance with the Bank Group’s Rules of Procedure for the Procurement of Goods and Works.
