Abstract COMPLETE TITLE OF PAPER 2

On the first line of the abstract page, center the word “Abstract” (no bold, formatting, italics, underlining, or quotation marks).

Beginning with the next line, write a concise summary of the key points of your research. (Do not indent.) Your abstract should contain at least your research topic, research questions, participants, methods, results, data analysis, and conclusions. You may also include possible implications of your research and future work you see connected with your findings. Your abstract should be a single paragraph double-spaced. Your abstract should be between 150 and

250 words.

You may also want to list keywords from your paper in your abstract. To do this, center the text and type:

Keywords: (italicized) and then list your keywords. Listing your keywords will help researchers

find your work in databases.

You will begin the first paragraph of your paper here. In order to type over this information, simply highlight these words and select Delete AFTER you have read these formatting instructions.

The margins and spacing have already been set for you. Do not stop typing at the end of each line. Continue typing your words until you come to the end of a paragraph. Then, you must key [Enter] in order to begin a new paragraph. Make sure you TAB one space when you create your new paragraph or set the top triangle on the rule above to .5 which will automatically indent the required 5 spaces. SPACING AFTER PERIODS HAS CHANGED TO 2 SPACES

AFTER A PERIOD. Academic documents in APA format must be double spaced with the first line of each paragraph indented. There is no extra space in between paragraphs. Use Times

New Roman font in 12 pt.

In order to change the information in the header, click on View above. Select Header and Footer from the drop down menu. The information in the upper right hand corner will appear to you in a dotted lined box. You do not have to change anything but the shortened document title.

As you can see, a Reference Page has already been inserted for you. This will be the last page of the document if it is required for your paper. If you happen to delete it, you may add one by taking the following steps: when you have come to the end of your actual essay, you can then insert your Reference page by selecting [Insert] from above and then clicking [Break…] from the drop down menu. You can then select [Page Break] which will take you to the top of a new page. COMPLETE TITLE OF PAPER 4

Last part of paper should be your conclusion or a summary of major issues throughout the paper. Finally, remember to save this as a .doc file and you will preserve your template. I hope this document format sample is helpful. COMPLETE TITLE OF PAPER 5

References

This is where you will include the Reference page if it is required. APA citation uses a hanging

indent for each entry (as illustrated in these paragraphs). All entries are double spaced

with no additional space between entries.

Entries should be placed on this page in alphabetical order by the first word in the entry. The

first word(s) in each entry should have a matching internal citation in your document.
