2 3 Late Resolution 4 RESOLUTION: 56(17) 5 6 SUBMITTED BY: West Virginia College of Emergency Physicians 7 8 SUBJECT: In Memory of Robert E. Blake, MD, FACEP 9 10 11 WHEREAS, The specialty of emergency medicine lost a caring, compassionate physician, mentor, and dear friend in Robert 12 Eugene Blake, MD, FACEP, who passed away on September 17, 2017, at the age of 49, leaving behind his wife Terri, son Camden, 13 and daughter Carsen; and 14 WHEREAS, Dr. Blake graduated from West Virginia University School of Medicine in 1994, completing his emergency 15 medicine residency at West Virginia University and served as Chief Resident and then served in the United States Army at Madigan 16 Army Medical Center in Fort Lewis, Washington from 1997 – 2001; and 17 18 WHEREAS, Dr. Blake most recently served as Medical Director of the St. Joseph’s Hospital Emergency Department in 19 Buckhannon, West Virginia; and 20 21 WHEREAS, Dr. Blake was an exemplary clinician who was admired by fellow physicians, nurses, physician assistants, EMS 22 personnel, and hospital staff; and 23 24 WHEREAS, Dr. Blake touched the lives of countless individuals as an educator, physician, role model, mentor, colleague, 25 consultant, friend, husband, and father; therefore be it 26 27 RESOLVED, That the American College of Emergency Physicians remembers with gratitude and honors the many 28 contributions made by Robert Eugene Blake, MD, FACEP, as one of the leaders in the medical community; and be it further 29 30 RESOLVED, That the American College of Emergency Physicians extends to the family of Robert Eugene Blake, MD, 31 FACEP, his friends, and his colleagues our condolences and gratitude for his tremendous service to the specialty of emergency 32 medicine and to the patients and physicians of West Virginia and the United States.
