Catalina Environmental Leadership Program Volunteer Group Packing List Spring and Fall on the island are usually mild during the day and cold at night. Be prepared for rain, sun, dirt, and the cold! This packing list is a very thorough guide only if followed. People have been very cold in the past, packing all of these items will make your stay more enjoyable.
Warm sleeping bag (temps to 45 ) Pillow Towel(s) Bathing suit Warm gloves Winter hat Waterproof jacket Waterproof pants (optional) Warm top layers (sweatshirt, sweater, warm jacket) T-shirts Jeans or pants Shorts Work clothes (long pants and shirt that can get dirty) Warm socks (multiple pairs…they may get wet and muddy) Sandals (optional) Shoes to walk/hike in Sturdy shoes for work projects (work boots or old hiking shoes) Work gloves (optional…camp provides basic leather work-gloves but having your own is definitely a plus) Sunscreen/lip balm/sunglasses Hat – to keep the sun off your face (often working in the sun is unavoidable) Water bottle Flashlight Wetsuit (optional…camp will provide) Mask, fins, snorkel (optional…camp will provide) Money for camp store Camera (we sell disposable underwater ($17) and regular cameras ($12) at the camp store) Toiletries (soap, toothbrush, etc…if you forget something, we probably sell it in our camp store) Guitar, games, cards, books, journals, Frisbee, hacky sack Snacks (optional…please keep in office not cabins)
