S3 and S4 DofE: Anyone who is aspiring to go on their bronze or silver expedition this year, please could you come to a meeting at 1:15pm tomorrow (Tuesday) in G47. (AG)

World Book Day is Thursday 5 March and it will have a Graphic Novel theme, with lots of events and activities. We will DROP EVERYTHING AND READ for 15 minutes. A bell will ring at 10:30am and we will all pick up our books and enjoy reading. Please make sure you have got something to read. An exciting graphic novel extravaganza event is planned for lunchtime and this is one you will not want to miss: Members of staff will talk about a favourite graphic novel, for around 2 minutes, all in comic book character fancy dress. Other lunchtime activities during World Book Day will include:  A pop-up graphic novel bookshop – exciting titles at knockout prices  A hands-on comic book workshop  Superhero cakes for sale  Fancy dress competition – so start thinking about your comic book costumes.

We will also welcome Metaphrog – the award-nominated creators of graphic novels to school – who will work with all of S1 in the morning. Make sure you help to make this the best World Book Day ever. (ST)

YPOD: Come and meet the staff team at the YPOD (Young People’s Open Door), lunchtime on Wednesdays. Please come along and let us know what health and wellbeing topics you would like at lunch times in the BRIDGE (across from reception).

Fairtrade Evening: On Tuesday 24 February there will be a fairtrade evening in the gallery in Elgin. It starts at 5.30pm both staff and pupils are welcome to go along and listen to talks from fairtrade representatives.

Gymnastics/Parkour Club: If you think you might be interested in taking part in a gymnastics/parkour club please come to the PE base on Tuesday 24 February at break time. At this meeting, we can discuss what day and time would suit the majority of people. The club would be an opportunity for people to practice and learn new skills and would be open to all levels. North of Scotland Cross Country: This takes place on Tuesday. All runners must ensure they have collected and returned a consent form to Miss Gardiner by today, with money for the bus. (MMcD)

Sports Personality of the Year: This competition is open to all pupils in S1-S6 who are competing in sport at a regional, national or international level. Alternatively, it is also open to pupils who give up lots of time to help develop sport through coaching. Application forms are available from your PE teacher or your Guidance teacher. Closing date for entries is 27 February thereafter the winner will be decided by a whole school vote. Get your entry in now to be in with a chance of winning this prestigious award!! (MMcD)

INFORMATION FOR S1-S3

S1/S2 Pupil Councils: Elgin Town Centre Regeneration project – Charrette – St Giles Church, Elgin: Could all S1 and S2 pupil council members please come to a short meeting today (Monday) at 1.40pm. Students should register with their class teacher and then make their way to the Conference Room. (KJG)

S3 Xscape Trip Meeting: There is a meeting on Thursday 26 February in room G31 at 1:20pm for all pupils who have signed up for the trip to Xscape. Thank you. (AD)

S1/S2 Rugby Team: Home match this Tuesday 24 February to open our new rugby pitch. Change in PE at the start of P6. Information on the Rugby Noticeboard by G15. Any questions please see Mr Kelly. (PK) S1/S2 Interhouse Table Tennis: This event will take place on Wednesday 25 February at 1.05pm in the Assembly Hall. Please sign up in the PE base if you are interested in taking part. There will be a girls and boys competition. Everyone who enters will receive house points! Mr Kinnear/Mr Sim.

S3 Pupil Council Meeting – Changed to Period 1: There will be an S3 Pupil Council Meeting today, Monday during period 1. Students should register with their class teacher and then make their way to the Meeting Room - G54. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. (KJG)

Trainee Administration Assistant: Required for Linkwood Medical practice, prepared to wait for the right candidate if exams are pending. Closing date 27 February. For more information and how to apply see the noticeboard outside the Guidance Base.

S4/5/6: All students (apart from those at college) will be taking place in a Health and Wellbeing event on Wednesday 25 March. For each year group the event will last 2 periods.  S4 students should report to the hall at the start of P1.  S5 students should report to the hall at the start of P3.  S6 students should report to the hall at the start of P5. Students should bring their bags to the hall. (Health and Wellbeing committee)

Fundraising Committee: Meeting today (Monday) at 1:10pm. (K Cunningham, S6)

S5/6 Eco Group: There will be a meeting in G54 at 1.10 today, Monday. Please come along early as you can. All members are expected to attend. (HH)

Shell Engineering Scheme: NESCOL (Fraserburgh) is holding an Open Evening to promote the Shell Engineering Scheme on Tuesday 24 February from 6pm to 8pm. S5/S6 Community Involvement Group: There will be a meeting for this group today (Monday) at 1.10pm in the Meeting Room. Please ensure everyone knows about this (MMcD)
