My C.W.L. Journey – Women of Peace and Hope / by Ella E. June 2009

Why I joined the CWL  Didn’t really want to - too busy  Mom was a member  Tillie made me  Wanted Ed to have to baby-sit kids

What I have gained from membership  Spiritual  Personal abilities  Acceptance and understanding  Friendship  The ability to make a difference

Women of Peace  Must begin with me – If I am not in peace with myself how can I be at peace with others  Peace within my marriage and family (not always easy with kids)  Peace with my friends  Peace within my community (church)  Peace and prayers for those who need it most

Women of Hope  Our society dwells on that which is bad – evil  Schools I worked in. Bad kids get all the attention. More good kids than bad  Society- greed, money, abortion, divorce, murder, gangs, drugs, etc – need our understanding and prayer. We don’t know what in their lives prompted these actions.  God will always be with us. He loves us even when we do not love Him.  We must pray for all of God’s people, especially those who we do not like and who do bad things for we do not know what is in their heart.  There is something better!!

Cast Out Into the Deep (Take a chance) We took a chance the day we got married. We definitely took a chance the day we had children to raise. Take a chance and follow God’s plan for you in the Catholic Women’s League. The rewards are amazing. Companions on the Journey Be a companion to all members. Help them along their life journey and their League Journey. Be with them in prayer

Love One Another We love our families no matter what. We must love our sisters in the League – even if we do not agree with them sometimes Sometimes it is easier to love those we do not know very well. God asks us to love and pray for all people – even those we do not like.
