FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Attorney Scott J. Hertz Volunteers at Gulf Elementary School

Scott J. Hertz, associate attorney of the Southwest Florida law firm Goldstein, Buckley, Cechman, Rice & Purtz, P.A., volunteered at Gulf Elementary School in Cape Coral on October 14th as part of the school’s Watch D.O.G.S. program.

This is the second year of the program and is thanks to a national program called Watch DOGS (Dads of Great Students) that encourages fathers to be more involved with their children’s schools. The fathers participate by doing a variety of tasks including patrolling to ensure the doors are closed and the school is secure. They also help before and after school with the car lines, eat lunch with the students, assist in the office, and spend time in the classroom with the children.

Hertz enjoys his time volunteering and feels fortunate to be a part of the program. “When walking the halls, the children all greet you with ‘Hi Watchdog’ and are eager to high five you. It’s a great experience,” adds Hertz.

A graduate of Florida International University and Ave Maria School of Law, Hertz focuses his practice on commercial, contract, construction, and governmental law. Hertz is admitted to practice in Florida State Courts and in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Hertz is also a member of The Florida Bar, Lee County Bar Association, the Rotary Club of Cape Coral, Calusa Inn of Courts and the Cape Coral Construction Industry Association.
