The Odyssey TV/Radio Talk Show Project World Literature Class – Ms. Rago

Goals: 1. With a partner (or two peers) write a meaningful and effective script of an interview between a character from The Odyssey and an interviewer. 2. Perform the script in an appropriate manner that clearly and effectively captures the character’s personality and the accurate events related to the epic poem. 3. Collaboratively work with a partner/team in order to achieve the above two goals; balance the “workload” and agree on a fair distribution of “labor.”

Script Criteria – worth a test grade 1. Number of Questions/Answers: Two People – 8 – 10 questions/answers Three People – 12 – 15 questions/answers

2. Content should: ~ reflect an accurate account of events ~ capture the character’s personality ~ clearly incorporate at least two Greek terms/concepts

Performance Criteria – worth a test grade 1. Time length: ~ Two people – 3 – 5 minutes ~ Three people – 6 – 8 minutes

Optional: Thirty second TV commercial related to Ancient Greek; may promote either a product or service. Must be relevant and somewhat serious; use good judgment.

Note: Props and wardrobe may be used, however, if they are not used your grade will not be negatively effected.

Note: Each of the tasks 1 - 3 indicated below is worth one homework grade Task #4 (the final script) and task #5 (the actual performance) are both worth a test/project grade.
