____CABIN COUNSELOR: Responsibilities may include working with a co-counselor in a cabin, supervision of up to 7 campers in your cabin, motivating and participating in ALL CAMP activities with your cabin, may also include teaching or assisting in assigned daily classes, daily activities, and clean up of assigned areas on final Saturday. This position is considered HIGH RISK according the Ohio’s “best practices” for screening volunteers who work with children. You will be required to have a background/fingerprint check.
____KITCHEN STAFF: Responsibilities for this position shall include set up of camp kitchen, preparation of meals, cleaning of kitchen area daily and final clean up for inspection on Saturday. You will also be working with counselors and campers during KP as such you will be required to complete a volunteer disclosure statement according the Ohio’s “best practices” for screening volunteers who work with children before being accepted as a kitchen staff member.
____SUPPORT STAFF: This position shall include C.A.M.P. Ministers, First Aid Providers, Craft Hall Supervisor, Mothers or Fathers with pre-camper age children and individuals that choose this staff position. This position may include teaching or assisting in classes, leading or assisting in daily camp activities and clean up of assigned area on final Saturday. Support staff is considered LOW OR MEDIUM RISK (depending on your assignments and activities for the camp week). You may be asked to complete a volunteer disclosure statement or a background/fingerprint check according to Ohio’s “best practices” for screening volunteers who work with children.

Instructions for the 2007 C.A.M.P. Staff Application
Please choose the correct application that applies to you:
New Volunteer Staff Application – Forms needed: 1. Completed new staff application 2. Letter of recommendation 3. Results of fingerprint background check (note: only for cabin counselors) 4. Volunteer disclosure statement (note: only for support or kitchen staff)
A New Volunteer Staff Application is to be completed by anyone that has never served as a staff member at C.A.M.P. OR if you were not on C.A.M.P. staff last year (2006) you will be required to completely fill out a new volunteer staff application (which includes reading the counselor agreement and signing at the end of the application) and returning it to the C.A.M.P. address listed. Additionally, if you are applying to be a cabin counselor you must submit a fingerprint background check results to be considered for this year’s C.A.M.P. staff. If you have had a fingerprint background check done within this past year, you may supply C.A.M.P. with a copy of the results for our records.

A Volunteer Veteran Staff Application is to be completed by anyone that has been a C.A.M.P. staff member consecutively since 2005. You will be required to complete this application (on line (NEW) if applicable) or submit the paper form if you have no access to the internet. If you submit your application on line, NO confidential information concerning social security number or driver’s license is required. NOTE: if you have moved within the past year another fingerprint background check results will need to be submitted.
Additional C.A.M.P. Staff Information:
The first Staff Meeting will be held on Sunday, April 15 at 3:00pm in the Gahanna Community Church’s Sanctuary.
C.A.M.P. 2007 runs August 5 through August 11 with staff reporting August 4. Applications need to be submitted by May 1, 2007.
