Dianne Ellen Busak-Lancaster: March 11, 1961 – September 29, 2010

Dianne passed away after a yearlong fight with brain, lung, and pancreatic cancer. She is survived by her two sons Nicko and Trevor Lancaster, her husband Larry Seeley, her mother Carol Sharp, her three brothers: Jeff Whitman; Jim Busak; and Steve Busak, and her two sisters: Renay Busak-Burke and Rosanne Busak-Cloney.

Dianne did some amazing things career-wise. Not really knowing what line of work she wanted to do, she took a job at a hotel in Newport Beach as a server. In just a few short years, and with the help of some college accounting classes, she became the Accounts Payable Manager and later Food and Beverage Manager.

In her 30’s, Dianne decided to change careers and went to work in the mortgage industry. Starting at an entry level job and learning everything she could, she eventually became Vice President of a large mortgage corporation.

With the collapse of the mortgage industry, Dianne lost several jobs and companies kept closing. Not to be beaten, she went back to the hotel where she started and worked again as a server, while she decided what to do next.

When Dianne was in high school, she volunteered as a Candy Striper in a local hospital. That experience always remained with her, and two years ago she decided to go to school and become a nurse. Working nights and going to school days, she completed a grueling eight month course to become a Medical Assistant. She made up her mind that she was going to be the best in her class and never lost sight of that goal. She graduated with honors, but was very disappointed that she came in second in her class. That was typical Dianne. Her plan was to work as an MA and continue with her schooling to become a registered nurse. But before she could even complete her externship as a medical assistant, she was handed the terrible news about her cancer.

Dianne will always be remembered for her sheer determination to excel in whatever she tackled, her ability to make us laugh, her compassion and concern for others, and her capacity for love.
