MIDDLETON HUNT (EAST SIDE) BRANCH OF THE PONY CLUB TEAM & INDIVIDUAL SHOW JUMPING COMPETITION SUNDAY 10TH SEPTEMBER 2017 on parkland directly in front of: SLEDMERE HOUSE, SLEDMERE, YO25 3XS In support of 'The Festival of the Horse' Open to any teams or individuals from Pony Clubs, Pony Club Centres, Riding Clubs and other groups. Only PC members will qualify for the Junior Series Classes. Advance entries only – closing date Thursday 7th September 2017. No entries on the day. All classes will be two phase.

Class 1: 10 yrs and under – 40cms max 1st phase. 2nd phase 50cms max. Lead reins allowed.

Area 3 Junior Series – classes 2, 3 and 4 are qualifiers for the Final of the Junior Series to be held in October 2016. The top 2 teams and 4 individuals in each class will qualify. Qualification will pass down the line if already qualified in a team or as an individual. Age as at 01.01.2017.

Class 2: Junior Series -10 yrs and under –60cms max 1st phase. Timed 2nd phase 70cms max.

Class 3: Junior Series -12 yrs and under –70cms max 1st phase. Timed 2nd phase 75cms max.

Class 4: Junior Series -12 yrs and under –80cms max 1st phase. Timed 2nd phase 85cms max.

Class 5: Novice – 75cms. No age restriction, but combination of pony/rider not to have been placed 1st or 2nd in any SJ competition

Class 6: Intermediate – 85cms. No age restriction.

Class 7: Open – 95cms. No age restriction.

Teams may consist of 3 or 4 members (individuals may enter and will be put into teams, but all team members will also be judged as individuals). Best three scores for any team will count. The first part of the two phase classes will not be timed. The second part will be timed and slightly higher to decide placings.

Entry fee: £12 per competitor per class. Rosettes to 6th place for teams and individuals if sufficient entries received. Prizes to the winning team and 1st three individuals in each class. REFRESHMENTS - Available all Day. In case of bad weather contact Ruth Marley (tel no: 07881 548195)

Combinations may only jump once for each team in each class. Horses/ponies may only compete in a maximum of three classes.

To be run under Pony Club Show Jumping Rules 2017 (Junior Series under PC Novice Show Jumping Rules 2017 with the exception in Class 1 and 2 that properly fitted grass reins are permitted for safety reasons). Hats to be tagged as to the required PC standard and must be fastened and worn at all times when mounted. No jewellery allowed. Jackets and ties/stocks to be worn and hair below the collar must be secured appropriately in a hair net. No spurs without DC’s permission.

Owners and riders entering their horse/ponies do so at their own risk. The Middleton Hunt (East Side) Branch of The Pony Club Officers and Members and Sledmere Estate as the Landowners will accept no liability of any kind in respect of any loss, damage or accident to horse, rider, spectator or any other persons or property whatsoever. All non-Pony Club competitors must hold their own public liability insurance cover. The organisers of this event have taken every responsible precaution to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, members of the public and all competitors must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents and must comply with the organisers, officials and stewards. The decision of the judges is final. Any objections should be made within 15 minutes of the class finishing, together with a deposit of £10. This will be forfeited if the objection is not upheld by the Judges.
