Welcome to another school year! Let me introduce myself. My name is Aileen Toback (that’s Mrs. Toback to the students), and I am very excited about our upcoming year.

Life Science is a challenging course that is made up of topics such as Environmental Science, Cells & Heredity, Plants & Bacteria and Human Biology. The course is mostly hands-on, consisting of more than 50 experiments and demonstrations throughout the year. Each experiment is designed to provide the student with a strong foundation in scientific inquiry.

As an educator, I will do everything that I can to provide your child with a challenging and rewarding learning experience. Your child will be encouraged to actively participate in classroom activities, as these will be an integral part to their understanding of Life Science. I strongly feel that you and I are partners in your child’s education. In fact the partnership is really a three-way street: student, teacher and parent.

I have established a website at http://new.schoolnotes.com/atoback that will allow you and your child to view current assignments, project due dates, current vocabulary lists, etc. I have also provided some age appropriate science education links that should be useful to both you and your child as well.

I am looking forward to working with your child this year. Please take a few moments to read the attached information regarding grading policies and laboratory safety. I know that by working together we will make this a successful and rewarding year.
