I. Market Overview and Introduction The Food & Beverage market continues to expand and offer us opportunities. It is essentially recession-proof and grows with the population. The T&B® Fittings Stainless Steel Type A Fitting was developed specifically for Tyson Foods, but it can be used in many industrial applications. It should be shown to anyone who currently uses Type A conduit. Food & Beverage applications are a must because stainless steel fittings offer both durability and chemical resistance in washdown applications.

Target Markets The Stainless Steel Type A Fitting is perfect for industries where harsh conditions prevail — Food & Beverage, Petrochemical, Mining, etc.

II. Selling Strategy The current blue non-metallic Type A fitting (6302 series) performs very well. The addition of the stainless steel version opens up several selling opportunities.

First, sell the Stainless Steel Type A Fitting as the sensible choice to users of non-metallic fittings. Many plants should use a metallic fitting in low areas, where the likelihood of it being hit by another piece of equipment (such as a forklift) is considerable. The Stainless Steel Type A Fitting has the strength and durability to withstand hits, higher temperatures and harsh chemicals. Non-metallic fittings, in contrast, can be safely used in higher locations away from floor traffic.

Second, sell the Stainless Steel Type A Fitting as a vital component for washdown or process water applications. Its 304 stainless steel construction provides unbeatable corrosion resistance. What’s more, the entire Type A system is very flexible and offers unparalleled protection against the ingress of moisture.

This product is made in the USA at our Jonesboro, AR facility.

III. Sales Potential/Goal The sales potential for the Stainless Steel Type A Fitting is very good. It can be used in many applications, and not just in the Food & Beverage industry. We expect first year sales to be near $100,000. This number will grow as the product is seeded in the market, and we will follow up with a line extension that includes 90° fittings.

VI. Competitive Analysis and Comparison The only other company making stainless steel Type A fittings is a small electrical contractor in Arkansas. Their fitting is inferior to ours in both appearance and functionality. Additionally, we can offer our Stainless Steel Type A Fitting at a better price than the competitor and maintain healthy margins.
