Science Review Board Game Project

Science Review Board Game Project Overview: You will work in a group to create a board game on a 7th grade science topic that we will use to help us review for our state science test in June.

Topics: weather, cells, body systems, genetics

Groups: You will work in groups of 3 or 4

Requirements: 1. Unique game board that includes all parts and pieces needed to play. 2. Clearly written directions that can easily be followed by other groups. 3. Each group member will be required to write questions on the chosen topic. The questions must use the question stems that are provided and they must complete the required number of different question stem levels. 4. This is a project that will mainly be completed outside of class. This is a big project and you should not wait until the last minute to begin working on the project.

Grading: You should use the rubric given to you in class to help guide you with your project. This will count as a major test grade. Your grade will be broken down into these categories:  Game board – 30%  Questions – 50%  Creativity – 10%  Clarity of directions/Ease of play (other students can easily follow the directions and rules of the game on their own without having to ask the group that created it for help) – 10%

Due Date: All projects will be due on Friday, May 1, 2015. Ten points will be deducted for each day the project is late.

Other Important Dates:  3/17 – project assigned  3/18 – students will email Mrs. Trawinski with the names of their group members  3/19 – students will be assigned a topic for their game  4/2 – meet with Mrs. Trawinski to update progress  4/17 – questions for game due – feedback given to improve questions  4/29 – group will bring all parts of the game together and test out  4/30 – in-class time to make any final changes  5/1 – project due

***You do not need to go out and buy a lot of materials to complete this project. Look for items around your house that you can use for game pieces and board. BE CREATIVE!!!!***
