SUMMARY

Assist department head in organizing, planning, and coordinating group events and set schedules for major ministry events under the direction of the department head. Collaboratively provide direction to leaders of various groups and work to unify, simplify, and clarify communications while working many projects simultaneously. Work with minimal direction from director and make some decisions independently. May require specialized knowledge, skills or training depending on specific roles and duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• • Memorial Coordinator: Meets with grieving family; Coordinates available pastor, service elements, facilities, and day-of program • • Ministry Care Calls & “On Call” Coordinator: Coordinates interns / lay leaders / pastoral support; Manage Ring Central phone system and schedule • • Homebound Members: Coordinates sermon DVD distribution & visitation of homebound members • • Hospital Visitation: Coordinates hospital visits with Deacons and Pastor of Caring Ministries • • Communion Visits: Coordinates Holiday communion visits with Pastors and Homebound members • • Caring Ministry Leader Care: Work with Pastor of Caring Ministries to care for leaders within the ministry • • Benevolence: Maintains food Scrip certificates, budget, and digital benevolence forms; Distribute Member & Non-Member Scrip. Coordinates all financial assistance requests. • • On-Campus Triage: Receives initial triage phone calls and coordinates with our Deacon ministry, Stephen’s Ministry & local partners based upon need; Coordinates and schedules Intake Days; Coordinates Intake Interns / Lay Leaders. • • Resource List Compilation & Distribution: Manage vetted list of community resources and supply to appropriate staff / lay leaders • • Christian Counselor Referral List: Coordinate counselor interviews and manage vetted list • • Grief Support Follow-up: Coordinates follow up with those experiencing grief &/or have participated in Grief Share; Manages distribution of “Journeying Through Grief” booklet distribution. • • General Caring Ministries Follow-up: Coordinates follow-up with pastors and Deacons regarding needs discovered through our Prayer Cordon.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications: Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Training/experience in pastoral counseling, spiritual direction, or related caring professions, but not required.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write lengthy, professional correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts in a clear and fluid manner in one-on-one and small group situations to stakeholders of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to understanding and carry out detailed, complex conceptual, written or oral instructions. Ability to creatively and efficiently handle problems involving complex variables in varying situations using business acumen.

Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Applications with emphasis on Excel, Word, and Outlook.
