XIV. LIST STRENGTHS OF SIG: Strong, dedicated and easy-going core leadership group who work well together. The core leadership group have diverse backgrounds as nurse practitioners and are geographically distinct. This adds to the diversity and strength within the NP SIG. Large SIG with many members with the potential to accomplish projects and activities to promote quality NP oncology care and standards.

LIST CHALLENGES/WEAKNESSES OF SIG: (State how you are addressing these.) Membership has limited involvement with projects and management of the SIG. Addressing this : by frequent correspondences asking for volunteers; including in ONS survey if members would volunteer more if personally asked; following up with members who say they will volunteer and then change their minds. SIG does not have financial support for coordinator to attend all three ONS conferences in which NP SIG meetings are held. Addressing this by increasing the awareness of the BOD of the financial burden this places on volunteers, and how this may effect future recruitment for NP SIG coordinators.PAGE 6 of 7 XV.SIG VIRTUAL COMMUNITY – LIST HOW YOU HAVE USED YOUR SITE The NP SIG Virtual Community is mainly used to dissemiante information for members. We have tried to increase our members' use of the virtual community by providing updates at the meetings and in the newsletter. Our Virtual Community Coordinator is planning to update content more frequently and to work with Jenny Shinshy to strengthen the site.

XVI. ADDITIONAL: COMMENTS, QUESTIONS, PROBLEMS, AND SOLUTIONS: The NP SIG would like to communicate more with the ONS leadership, and through this communication faciliate stronger relationships of mutual support. The NP SIG would like to conduct a research survey to explore the use and effects of discriminatory language in health care.

This form does not allow entries at each area where there is a question. For example, see XII< last year strategic plan was revised, and signature/date below. When information is added for the leadership the content becomes misaligned. Unfortunately, I was not able to align the formatting to the professional appearance of the blank form. If there is a way to complete the form with an improved style, pelase share that with me, and I'll re-do.
