Due to the need to improve targeting of the service to those in greatest need, the Garden Maintenance Service will be limited to:

 Applicants in receipt of high rate Attendance Allowance (Care Component)  Age 75 Years and Over on or before 1st January 2012  Chronically Sick

The service will allow applicants, who are eligible, to have their grass cut on a regular basis throughout the growing season. Please note the service is only for people unable to look after their own garden. If you are able to have your garden looked after, then please do not apply for the service as you may cause someone who does need the service to be left out.

What Will Happen Next?

If your application is successful the service will commence during the month of April 2012. If we are unable to provide the service to you, we will let you know. Please note there is a waiting list for the free service.

What Does The Service Include?

The service will include cutting and strimming of grass, lifting and disposing of all arisings. Areas to be cut will be limited to 200 square metres, up to 10 times per season, weather permitting. Hedge cutting will be undertaken once only at the end of the season and will be limited to 100 square metres. Please note that we use your own brown bin to dispose of grass cuttings. If you need the bin pull out service please contact 0845 277 7000.

Note: Paying Clients please note payment for hedge cutting will not be collected until Sept/Oct and is not included with payment of grass.
