Pre-Registration and Advising Instructions

1. Review the advising manual for the College of Education at: http://www.vsu.edu/pages/856.asp a. Go to Conference Room 120 to pick up materials for registration listed below: (Curriculum Sheet, Student Data Form, Registration Form, Communication Form, Candidate Timeline) b. Print your unofficial transcript from Banner c. Review the Course Schedule for the spring semester d. Review the Curriculum Sheet for your endorsement area to determine the classes you need to take. e. Complete the Student Data Form f. Complete the Registration Form. g. Fill out the top portion of the Communication form and bring it with you to your appointment. Sign up with your advisor for an appointment. Bring all forms in bold above with you to your appointment. Your advisor will; a. Review your schedule b. Sign and approve your schedule c. Give instructions to register online or issue your pin for you to register 2. Interdisciplinary pre-candidates and candidates MUST do the following: a. Meet with your education advisor to review your schedule. You will fill out registration form with your education advisor. b. Your advisor will submit a copy of the registration form to Director of Interdisciplinary Studies. If approved he/she will sign registration form. c. At this time your education advisor will either give you your pin to register or register you for classes. The education advisor will sign below the primary advisor on the registration form. 3. Secondary Education pre-candidates and candidates MUST do the following: a. Meet with your education advisor to review your schedule. You will fill out registration form with your education advisor. b. You will submit a copy of the registration form to your advisor in your major. If approved he/she will sign registration form. c. At this time your advisor will either give you your pin to register or register you for classes. d. The education advisor will sign below the primary advisor on the registration form.
