MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON 05/07/11

GROUND & PAVILION:

The lease has been executed on the Academy Ground. T.Murrill suggested that the Academy Ground be renamed the Percy & Alice Bates Academy ground in recognition of their support of the club over many years - this was supported by the committee, Tim will speak to John Bates.

Charlie Hurst is hiring the ground Monday 18th July – A Ruz to be in attendance and do a safety and condition check.

THEFTS AT GROUND ON 11/06/2011

The Police and the Neibourhood Watch Liason Officer have been advised of the theft. A Ruz arranging extra signage.

PAVILION / SOCIAL

End of season do set for Friday 21st October 2011 Presentations to be made including the Clubman of the Year [currently held by Botts since 2004]

The Ian and Bill Anthony sponsored painting has been accepted and the Club will arrange a formal presentation.

The date of the Ladies Night has been altered to 27/08/2011 and the Club to pay for the food for the night and individuals pay their way in respect of drinks. Bottles of wine will be placed on the table for the ladies. COMMITTEE

Concern was expressed again about the bar being used by unauthorised individuals – Botts will look into the cost of shutters. Also Richard Botting to put a lock on the bar door.

The rule is: The bar should only be operated by a Committee member or any other person properly designated on the night.

More effort is required in tidying the pavilion after Saturday matches – especially the tea makers who need to empty the fridges or rotting food and the drunkards who are too tired and emotional to take away their rubbish and clean up.

EQUIPMENT :

Clive to order a skip but a permanent enhanced refuse removal system is urgently needed.

Sunday – Presidents and Plate semi-final – Botts/Nancy to co-ordinate a double tea Monday – 6-a-side Tuesday – Bii and Ian Anthony –v- BCC over 50’s, second game to be sourced Wednesday – Farmers and Cuckfield over 40’s Thursday – Great Houghton and Mid Sussex XI Friday – Tim Murrills XI and Balcombe FC

Tea and evening food rota to be circulated – A Ruz to circulate a draft.

Postman has delivered flyers locally and will do another flyer drop nearer the time.

The design of the tickets and leaflets was produced by Jackie Burditt and shall receive free tickets as a thank you. Banners are ready and will be put up at the weekend of the fete including at the fete itself.

T.Murrills has arranged an Irish duet to play some music for the Friday evening £240 agreed. Spanner to provide the PA system and also to run the disco on Saturday night.

Team captains to liase with A.Ruzicka to arrange a bar rota,it was agreed that if there was nobody available to take responsibility for the bar during matches it must be closed.

A.Ruzicka has arranged the band for Saturday night £300 Clive Elliott is to arrange the supply of the beer for cricket week.

Arrangements are to made to ensure that areas are available to enable visitors to watch cricket.

Derek Earle has two spare marquees available should they be required it was agreed that Guy Dutton will accept – one down by the nets and one in the back pitch. The club gazebo to go next to the pavilion.

John Bates to receive 4 free tickets. Pete Harding ditto for cutting the hedges.

Pete Dutton to see if we can fit a third ram on the spit roast rig as there was concern that two may not be sufficient.

A.O.B.: G.Botting has issued CRB forms to members who need verification Clive Elliott to follow up with Matt Parsons

Botts has received his CRB renewal certificate.

Albert Constable is working on the club history and is looking for fixture cards for 1938 and 1948.

C.Botting advised the meeting that Farnside could possibly sponsor our shirts for next season.
