1. 4.Please attach a quote for airfare from either Campus Travel or from STA Travel on Macquarie University campus.

5. If engaged in offsite* research activity for more than 6 months (CONTACT [email protected] FOR ASSISTANCE)

Candidates intending to travel to engage in an offsite research activity for MORE THAN 6 MONTHS are required to arrange special insurance. This includes travel associated with visiting Home or Partner institutions, if you are a confirmed domestic or an international Cotutelle and Joint Research Degree candidate.

Please email [email protected] AFTER your Application has been approved to arrange special insurance. Please provide her with the following details: student number, full name, destination/s (country & city/province), duration at each destination, country of citizenship (including dual citizenship details), and contact details. Please allow approximately 5 business days for individual insurance arrangements to be finalised.

Insurance arrangements MUST be finalised PRIOR to departure.

* “Offsite” refers to locations outside of the Macquarie University campus situated at North Ryde. Macquarie University campus also includes the locations of MQ’s controlled entities, such as MGSM, U@MQ, MQ Hospital and Clinic, ACCESS Macquarie, CMBF etc.

If applying for funds to cover costs associated with any of the categories in Section 3: You MUST attach a brief outline (200 to 400 words) of: (i) the proposed research activity/item; (ii) how is the activity/item ESSENTIAL to your thesis project; and (iii) how will the activity/item assist you in the timely completion of your thesis.

The Principal Supervisor is responsible for providing critical assessment of the candidate’s needs and of each part of the proposed research project activity in this Application.

The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the activity/item in this funding request is essential to the candidate’s thesis research project for the timely completion of his/her thesis.

The Supervisor is asked to provide a statement of support by briefly outlining how the activity to be funded will benefit the candidate, and whether the applicant is at an appropriate stage in his/her research to undertake the proposed research activity.
