FENCE REGULATIONS

FENCE: A structure which is a barrier and used as a boundary or means of protection or confinement.

FENCE- OPEN: A fence including gates which as, for each one foot wide segment extending over the entire length of the fence, 50 percent of the surface area in open spaces which afford a direct view through the fence.

FENCE – SOLID: A fence, including gates, which conceals from view from adjoining properties, streets, or alleys, activities conducted behind it.

Fences shall be constructed in accordance with the provisions of Section 11.04 E of the Fond du Lac Zoning Code, and other applicable provisions of the Fond du Lac Municipal Code. Fences shall be as defined in Section 11.15 C. Zoning Definitions. Chain link/wire fences prohibited in M4, R2 single family condo dwellings, R3.5, R3.75, R4, R5.

PERMITS: No fence shall be erected until a permit has been applied for and issued by the Inspection Services Division. A site plan drawing must accompany the permit application.

CONSTRUCTION & MAINTENANCE: All fences shall be constructed in such a manner that the "finish side" of the fence faces neighboring property. The "finish side" shall be defined as the side of the fence without support posts, brackets, etc.

FENCES, OPEN – RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS FENCES, SOLID –RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS
