Hong Kong Disneyland Announces New Ambassador

(Hong Kong – 21 October 2008) Hong Kong Disneyland announced today that the 26-year-old Law Chi Ho has been selected as the 2009 Hong Kong Disneyland Ambassador. Chi Ho will begin his tenure on January 1, 2009 and is the first male Ambassador to represent Hong Kong Disneyland.

“ I am very excited about my new adventure as Hong Kong Disneyland Ambassador. I will do my best to promote the unique Disney experience to our Guests from around the world and serve the community together with our great Disney VoluntEARS!” said Chi Ho. He will join Disney Ambassadors from the United States, France and Japan at the Worldwide Ambassador Training Program in Disneyland Resort, California and Walt Disney World, Florida next month.

Andrew Kam, Managing Director, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort welcomed Chi Ho to his new role. He said, “The Hong Kong Disneyland Ambassador makes a significant contribution to promoting the Park and leading Cast Members in serving the community. I truly believe that Chi Ho will go the extra mile to fulfill his Ambassador duties.” He also commended Jasmine Law, the Ambassador of Hong Kong Disneyland in 2007 and 2008, for her excellent work in engaging Cast Members, Guests and the community.

Chi Ho was chosen for his friendly, pleasant and outgoing personality. In 2009, he will be tasked with upholding a tradition started by Walt Disney; to bring the rich heritage and legacy of the Disney Company to life by promoting the hope, inspiration, optimism and happiness associated with our beloved brand. As an official Cast Members representative, Chi Ho will share his knowledge and passion with diverse internal and external audiences. He will recognize our Cast Members for the value they bring to Hong Kong Disneyland, extend goodwill into the community as well as promoting the Resort to our Guests. Born in Hong Kong and a Hong Kong Disneyland Cast Member since 2006, Chi Ho graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a Bachelor of Arts (Theatre Major). He was an actor and stage manager in Hawaii and began his career in the Entertainment team where he is currently a Lead.

Applications for the 2009 Hong Kong Disneyland Ambassador came from various lines of business. The selection process took more than three months, during which time applicants submitted essays and participated in a series of rigorous interviews and training sessions.

The first Disneyland Ambassador was selected by Walt Disney himself in 1965 to commemorate the Disneyland Park’s first decade of successful operation. The Ambassador program proved to be so successful that Ambassadors have since given a face and a name to Disneylands round the world for more than 40 years. Today, every Disney theme park has its own ambassador.
