Ann Granger Named Executive Director of the YWCA of Brunswick

BRUNSWICK - Ann Granger has been named Executive Director of the
YWCA of Brunswick, according to Christine Pierce, President of the Board.
Ann brings more than 25 year’s of experience as an Executive Director for non-profits organizations serving youth, providing counseling services to cancer patients, working with mentally retarded and developmentally disabled, and leading advocacy efforts for women’s issues. She has extensive fund raising experience and has successfully completed four capital campaigns. The former
CEO of Girl Scouts of Buckeye Trails in Dayton, Ohio, is very excited to provide new leadership for the local YWCA.
She is a graduate of The Ohio State University and holds a Bachelor of
Arts degree in sociology. She also received her Masters of Science degree from DePaul University in management. In addition, she has attended advanced management programs at Emory and Harvard Universities.
“The board is so pleased to have someone with Granger’s extensive non-profit experience and commitment to women and children’s issues. She has already introduced herself to many community leaders and our members, participated in our fitness classes, and familiarized herself with the many programs and services offered by our organization. I am sure she will provide us the leadership and direction that will secure of future,” Pierce said. Granger said it is a real privilege to become the YWCA’s executive director and to provide the leadership for such an important organization. “The
YWCA is a remarkable organization with dedicated staff and a proud history of serving youth, young adults, and senior members from our community in so many ways. I look forward to promoting the use of our fabulous facilities, focusing on expanding programs that serve the needs of our membership and reflect our mission to empower women and eliminate racism.”

The YWCA is a women’s membership organization dedicated to the empowerment of women and the elimination of racism. The YWCA of
Brunswick celebrated its 90th birthday this summer. Today, the YWCA offers childcare services, after school programs, day camps, extensive swimming programs, fitness facilities, and the Silver Sneekers program for seniors. Unique programs focused on the needs of women and girls include the Tribute to Women Leaders, Young Women’s Career adventure, and Women’s Leadership Institute.
