TAFE Queensland COURSES - PROCEDURE and DUE DATES for 2015

TAFE Queensland offers pathways through a range of industry areas for students in their senior phase of learning. TAFE Queensland programs are designed to lead into post-graduate study options giving students a head-start into the workforce or other study options. Courses available include:

Animal Studies Health Support Services Horticulture Hairdressing Retail Makeup and Skincare Fashion Design and Hat Making Sport and Recreation Telecommunications Technology Beauty Services Graphic Design Photo Imaging Events / Tourism Health Services Assistance Hospitality Early Childhood Fitness Interior Decoration Media Music Music Business

All TAFE Queensland courses are organised through the school by the Senior Schooling HOD. Payments are made to TAFE Queensland on receipt of acceptance and invoice from the TAFE. Any students wishing to apply for a TAFE Queensland course must meet all the requirements listed in the steps below before the school will approve the EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI) to TAFE Queensland.

The school does not have to accept applications after the due date. The success of placing students in their course will depend on the number of students from various schools wishing to do each course. Please note: once you have completed an APPLICATION, CONTRACT and the GUIDANCE OFFICER APPROVAL forms, students are committed to attending the TAFE course if they are accepted. Any cancellations may incur a fee from TAFE as a refund cannot be guaranteed. Therefore, please only write down choices of courses that you are prepared to attend. Also realise students may not get their first choice.

Complete a TAFE Queensland Mansfield SHS APPLICATION and CONTRACT forms. These can be collected from:  Mansfield SHS website - https://mansfieldshs.eq.edu.au/Curriculum/Vocationaleducation/Pages/TAFE.aspx  Ms Wenzel in the upper office

Submit your completed APPLICATION and CONTRACT forms to Ms Wenzel and collect the GUIDANCE OFFICER APPROVAL form.

You must have handed your APPLICATION and CONTRACT forms to Ms Wenzel by: 12 September 2014

Book an appointment time with a Guidance Officer.

Ensure you add the course to your SET plan.

You must have completed your Guidance Officer Appointment by: 12 September 2014

Submit your signed GUIDANCE OFFICER APPROVAL Form to Ms Wenzel by: 12 September 2014 Student will then need to complete an ONLINE REGISTRATION at TAFE at Schools Portal (https://apps.southbank.edu.au/STEPHUB/). This needs to be completed by: 10 October 2014

School will be notified of successful applicants in October 2014. Successful applicants will be sent an Enrolment Pack detailing:  How to enrol  Costs and how to pay  Orientation details (held the week prior to the program start and attendance is mandatory)

You must have accepted your enrolmentf offer and paid by: 28 November 2014.

TAFE Queensland Programs start early February 2015. Make sure you have all requirements ready for the first day of TAFE.

N.B. Students applying for a TAFE course during MAP MUST also put their names down for another non-paying MAP activity on Block 1 MAP selection day if your TAFE placement hasn’t been confirmed – there is no guarantee you will be successfully placed in a TAFE course.
