The Help That Can Be Endless and Fruitful

AMURSKII MAYAK 09.09.2004 “THE HELP THAT CAN BE ENDLESS AND FRUITFUL” by T.Shalnova from the interview to Eugene Bykov and Alexander Golubev.

This article is about orphanage #1 in Bogorodskoe village. This institution is a home for 107 orphan children, most of them came here with sad backgrounds and simple but unrealized dreams about things that are available for other children who are cared by loving parents. Now their orphan dreams come true. Many things became available since the orphanage was blessed with the new director – Alexander Golubev and a sponsor – the nonprofit charity foundation “Lifeline of Hope” and its local president – Eugene Bykov. This foundation with a very romantic title brings a very material help to many children institutions like this one. The attention of the “Lifeline of Hope” to the orphanage was driven by the specialist of the Khabarovsk krai Ministry of Education – Nina Mazurova. Her opinion about the place and their director was very positive. In a short time Alexander and the “Lifeline of Hope” demonstrated good results and their job was a great success. Bogorodskoe Orphanage is a leader in stock-raising and animal husbandry among other regional institutions. The staff does a good job in bringing the children into participating in those processes. The farming and gardening have also good therapy effects on the children.

The foundation helps the orphanage in many housekeeping needs. A lot is done for the physical education at the institution. There is a goal for the children to become champions among other institutions.

Eugene Bykov visited another orphanage in Bogorodskoe village. The economical situation there seems to be better, but still there are many needs that could be covered with the help of the foundation. Eugene Bykov plans to purchase a freezer as a first sponsoring aid to the new place.

He also thinks that although the State tries to do a lot to run the orphanages properly, the situation is not going to be changed soon, and there are still a lot of work for the foundations such as “Lifeline of Hope”. The major purpose now to create a strong “shield” for the needy children.

E. Bykov also notices that the people who work at Russian orphanages as well as the foundation’s sponsors are special people, they do not happen to be in this business by accident or chance. They all have special qualities that are necessary to make the children feel loved and cared of.

The foundation plans to continue their regular help and participate in realizing new ideas of the orphanage’s staff to improve the facilities’ conditions. Alexander told us that all the orphanage’s needs are always met by the “Lifeline of Hope” . He said that the improvements that were achieved for the last year were due to the mutual efforts of the foundation and the institution’s staff. The foundation provided the orphanage with two freezers, bed linen sets, fish tanks, medical equipments and furniture and many other things and items. Every request was met by the sponsors. The help of the ‘Lifeline of Hope” gives the orphanage necessary possibilities to improve the medical care and the prophylaxis against children diseases. A. Golubev says that it was a gift from Heaven to meet such kindhearted and generous helpers as the “Lifeline of Hope”.

God gives some people great capacities to help needy ones. And let those who are responsible for the children’s care to use that gift wisely, so the children would feel loved and cherished as it should be. And maybe then the grey days of the orphan life would light up with all rainbow colors. All what is needed to make it true is love to those children. And let this partnership of the orphanage’s staff and the people from the “Lifeline of Hope” to be endless and fruitful.
