Ministry activities: Serve with the Mobile Baptist Association International Ministries Director to coordinate the activites at the International Ministry Center (IMC)/Seafarers ministry in Mobile County. This is an outreach tool to meet physical and spiritual needs of seafarers coming into the Port of Mobile. Our port is the 7th largest in the Country. Involves MBA congregations with seafarers and share converts and contacts with existing language congregations. Work with MSC coordinator for International Language School and MSC Coordinator for Language Church Starting.
Basic goals and expectations: Work with MBA churches to provide Evangelistic ministry to more than 2000 seafarers from more than 130 countries who visit Mobile on ships. Our goal is to increase the number of seafarers who visit our IMC by increasing the number of volunteers/chaplains and drivers to transport the seafarers in the IMC vans. We intend to better involve our MBA churches, particularly our language congregations.
Information about the ministry: Visit imc.mobilebaptists.org to see the exciting opportunities to reach seafarers coming into the port of Mobile. We have had over 200 professions of faith each year for the last several years. We usually have over 2000 seafarers visit our IMC each year.
