Provincial Grand Lodge of Hertfordshire

PROVINCIAL GRAND LODGE OF HERTFORDSHIRE

From: Provincial Grand Secretary: Hugh Oram HO/ 17 – February

Dear Bro Secretary,

Information for Lodge Secretaries

I would remind you of the importance of completing and submitting the Provincial Return ‘Officers Appointed at Installation’ and notifying Province of changes of status, particularly deaths. We are commencing production of the 2017/18 Provincial Year Book and will using the now functioning facility of the Grand Lodge database Adelphi 2, hence the need for accurate and up to date records for Brethren.

FIRST RISING

Vacancies at Grand Lodge

United Grand Lodge of England is recruiting two Communications’ Executives, full details and contact/application information are on the attached documents, from Grand Lodge.

Tercentenary Jewel

There appears to be some confusion regarding the wearing of Tercentenary Jewel, it can be worn by any member of UGLE who is a member between the 24th June 2016 and 31st December 2017, however, it can only be worn by Master Masons and above. So anyone Initiated between those dates can purchase the Jewel, but will not be able to wear it until they are raised.

Also Brethren are unsure the order in which jewels should be worn

 Any Royal Arch jewel should be closest to the centre of the chest  The Tercentenary Jewel should be worn next to any RA jewel  Then Past Masters or charity jewels

The Tercentenary Jewel may be worn by Master Masons, Worshipful Masters, Past Masters, holders of Provincial Grand Rank and Grand Officers. ‘ Inside the Freemasons’

Mike Baker, Director of Communications at Grand Lodge has confirmed the broadcast date for the first episode of the documentary series ‘Inside the Freemasons’ will be Monday 17th April at 2000hrs on Sky 1. There are five one hour episodes which will be broadcast on consecutive Mondays, but please note that the transmission date is still ‘provisional’.

SECOND RISING

The next shoot in support of the 2019 Festival will take place at Atkin Grant & Lang, shooting ground in Markyate on Tuesday 11th April 2017, details to follow.
