SOUTH CAROLINA LAW ENFORCEMENT DIVISION

APPLICANT WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR COMPANY LICENSE AND/OR REGISTRATION, IF ANY OF THE FOLLOWING APPLY:

1. Not a U.S. Citizen.

2. Under 18 years of age – Applicant must be at least 21 in order to be armed.

3. A Dishonorable Military Discharge. A General under Honorable, Honorable, or Uncharacterized, is acceptable.

4. Currently holding any other position that would constitute dual-office holding and/or a conflict of interest, such as:

- Correctional Officers - Jailers or Detention Officers - Probation or Parole Officers - Reserve Officers - State Constables - Federal Officers, Investigators or Inspectors - Military Police Officers and Investigators, such as CID/Army or OSI/Air Force. - Law Enforcement Officers (Exception: They may work for Premise Companies only unregistered under the “Moonlighting” statute.

5. Been convicted of a felony or a Crime of Moral Turpitude.

6. Has a criminal charge pending that, if convicted, would prohibit individual from being licensed or registered.

7. Applicant fails to meet any other criteria outlined in the S.C. Private Investigative or Contract Security Agencies Act, or falsifies the application for License, and/or registration.
