RE: AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF PHYSICS TEACHERS (AAPT) GRANT 2016

SCOPE: The AAPT offers the High School Physics Teacher Grant to provide funds to encourage teachers to experiment and improve on their teaching practices. The grants are given each year to teachers whose proposals meet the goals of the grant. The procedure should result in better teaching practice, student understanding and interest and improves enrollment and excitement about physics. The proposal may use a new teaching method or an adaption of an existing idea.

ELIGIBILITY: Basic eligibility requirements include the following: . Submitter must be a member of AAPT . Proposals should be received by December 1, 2016 . Grants cannot be used for travel or for salaries . Awardees who present a paper on the project at the AAPT meeting within the year, will receive $200 contribution toward the teacher travel expenses.

FUNDING: Eligible applicants may apply for grants in amounts from $100-$500 per award. https://www.aapt.org/Programs/grants/hsgrant.cfm

DISTRICT DEADLINE: Permission to Apply Form due on or before: October 28, 2016 Full Proposal due by: November 11, 2016

FUNDER DEADLINE: DECEMBER 1, 2016 NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS: FEBRUARY 2017
