WASHINGTON STATE’S DAN HILL ELECTED TO PGA OF AMERICA BOARD AS DISTRICT 14 DIRECTOR

SAN DIEGO – Dan Hill, PGA Master Professional and head professional at Broadmoor Golf Club in Seattle, Wash., has joined the PGA Board of Directors as District 14 Director. He was elected to the Board today at the 97th PGA Annual Meeting, and will serve a three-year term representing the Pacific Northwest and Southwest PGA Sections. Hill, 55, is a resident of Renton, Wash., and was elected to PGA membership in 1985. During his 28-year professional career, Hill has served in a leadership capacity at the Chapter and Section levels, including a term as president of the Pacific Northwest PGA Section from 2008-2010. Hill was named the Pacific Northwest Golf Professional of the Year in 2010 and is a five-time Section Merchandiser of the Year (private facility) Award recipient. “It is an honor and privilege to serve the Pacific Northwest and Southwest Sections as their District Director,” said Hill. “I look forward to being involved in guiding the direction of The PGA of America for the next three years to make the value of the PGA badge greater and the health of the game stronger.” In 1996, Hill earned PGA Master Professional status in Instruction, becoming the 191st Master Professional in The PGA of America. Prior to joining Broadmoor Golf Club, Hill served as PGA head professional at Wing Point Golf and Country Club on Bainbridge Island, Wash., and Hayden Lake (Idaho) Country Club. Born in Spokane, Wash., Hill played collegiate golf at Eastern Washington University in 1977-78. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington, Seattle. Hill and his wife, Janet, live in Renton, Wash. They are the parents of a son, Jonathan. The PGA Board of Directors is composed of the Association’s president, vice president, secretary, honorary president, and 17 directors. The directors include representatives from each of The PGA’s 14 districts, two Independent Directors and a member of the PGA Tour. New District Directors are elected by their local PGA Sections.
