PERSONAL STATEMENT With over 17 years experience within the voluntary sector, and 4 and a half within the Security Sector I am a confident, enthusiastic, hard working person who enjoys new challenges. I am professional and conscientious in my approach to work and I enjoy meeting and working with a variety of different people in numerous settings. I am passionate about helping people reach their potential by changing their mindset and working towards their goals.
ACHIEVEMENTS Red Rose Award Winner 2014 for Commitment to Skills – Security Training Delivered Training to Door Supervisors on completing MG11’s in conjunction with Lancashire Constabulary Developed an Accredited Peer Mentoring Programme for all male prisons and Young Offenders Institutes across England (For Prisoners Education Trust) Assisted in the creation of the Empowering Parents Partnership with Surestart , Intraining and Lancashire Adult Learning in 2008 – This is still being delivered today.
EMPLOYMENT HISTORY eLfy Training Relationship Manager January 2016 – present
With a caseload of approximately 80 Health and Social Care customers, ranging from a single Care Home to groups with 15 Care Homes I am responsible for maintaining the relationship between the Customer and eLfy Training. I monitor compliance reports on a weekly basis to ensure that the levels are acceptable with regards to CQC inspections; up-selling both eLearning and Face to Face courses where necessary. I deliver training to new customers, both face to face and via webinar, ensuring that they know how to access their reports via their eLearning portal. As part of the role I forge and maintain relationships with Care Workers, Home Managers, Training Managers, HR Managers as well as Managing Directors of each of the companies advising them all on their training needs to ensure that they remain compliant for the various inspections that they face.
FGH Security Operations Manager February 2015 – January 2016 Training Manager June 2013 – January 2016
As Operations Manager I was responsible for the day to day running of the Security Guarding Division. I ensured rosters were accurate and up to date, dealt with holiday requests, and provided day to day support for the Guards on duty. I was on call 24/7 to ensure that any issues or concerns were dealt with immediately with little or no disruption for the customers. I liaised with the Mangers of the sites to ensure that their needs were constantly being met. As Training Manager I was responsible for planning, development, organising and delivering a variety of training courses, including Award in Door Supervision, Conflict Management, Award for Personal License Holders and First Aid., for the staff, the clients and other community organisations. I assessed the needs of each of our staff members in relation to their venue / site and ensure that a suitable training package is available to them, working with the constraints given by the awarding bodies. I compiled monthly reports, which include costings, forecasts, attendance rates, for the Directors. I attend networking events and meetings to promote the work of FGH Security. Committed to developing partnerships with local learning providers in order to offer a more holistic programme for the staff.
Blackpool Advocacy Trustee (Voluntary) June 2011 – June 2013
As a Trustee, I was responsible for overseeing the work of the Organisation and the Staff. I attended regular meetings and assist the Co-ordinator in some of the day to day tasks with regards to budgeting and management of staff; including undertaking investigations and disciplinaries when needed. I held the post of Secretary for a year and was responsible for taking the minutes of the meetings accurately and in a timely fashion.
FGH Security Door Supervisor June 2011 – January 2016
Over the past 4 and a half years I have worked, supervised and ran numerous venues and events in and around Lancashire, Cumbria and Greater Manchester, as both a Door Supervisor and a Security Guard. Venues include Oscars Wine Bar, Dalton Rooms, Revolution, Sugarhouse and The Albert Hall in Manchester. Events include Kendal Calling, Manchester Pride and the Great North Swim During 2012, I assisted in the delivery of the EVE (Evading Violent Encounters) Courses, offering practical support to women within Lancaster about personal safety. In January 2013 I was nominated and won the ‘Commitment to the Community’ Award; of which is one of my proudest achievements. Intraining Community Outreach Advisor / Tutor July 2008 – June 2013
My main duties were to recruit and support learners on two provisions, offering accredited courses to 16-18 year olds on Foundation Learning Courses and over 19’s in a variety of vocational areas. I managed a caseload of approximately 25 learners and assist them in developing their qualifications. I was responsible for planning and producing engaging training, completing all paperwork is completed and is compliant, planning and organising events and trips, including undertaking risk assessments. I provided mentor support for challenging groups and engage them back into education. I taught Level 1 and 2 Health and Social Care, Level 1 Workskills, Level 1 Retail Knowledge as well as Functional English and Maths, Entry 3 to Level 2. I worked with a vast variety of different people with individual challenges and barriers and was able to develop effective working relationships with them quickly.
Women in Prison Peer Support Co-ordinator January 2007 – December 2007
I was home based and was responsible for over 300 women within 7 prisons in the North of England. I offered educational advice to the women and ensured that they were on the right distance learning course for them. I update files and reports, and submitted funding applications on a daily basis. I often attended meetings with Tutors and Governors of prisons as well as with Lords and Patrons of the Company
OTHER EMPLOYMENT I have been employed since the age of 16 and have undertaken a variety of roles and have gained vast amounts of knowledge and experience within the youth work, health and social care and training sectors. I have recruited, trained and managed volunteers as well as promoted courses which I have been working on. Alongside paid employment I have always tried to volunteer as I feel that it is important that I give something back to the local community.

INTERESTS I enjoy spending time with friends, and running when time allows. I have completed a 10K fell run around Coniston, and in the past I have run the Great North Run 4 times and have taken on the challenge of the Great Manchester Run and Skydiving for Charity. This year I am taking on the Cross Bay Half Marathon. I believe this training has helped me to become a more focused person. I hold a full, clean driving license and enjoy travelling around the country with my family.
