 Roadway construction will be taking place on I-40 near Raleigh during the 2016 SONC Summer Games so please allow extra time to get to your venues! Also please be alert to potential traffic shifts and lane closures.

o The Ironman Triathlon is in Raleigh the same weekend. Avoid use of Hillsborough Street and avoid downtown Raleigh.

General Directions

N.C. State University Main Campus (Sullivan, Lee, and Wood Dormitories, Delegation Registration, Volleyball, Powerlifting, Dance/Olympic Town) Raleigh, NC

Delegation Registration and unloading will occur at the Lee Lot on the Main Campus of N.C. State University for those staying at Lee Dorm and at the North Bragaw Lot for those staying at Sullivan Dorm (campus maps will be available to direct to Dormitories). Primary parking for delegations in cars and vans is at the West Deck across Sullivan Drive from the Lee Lot. Primary parking for buses is at the Lower Wolf Village Lot on Faucette Drive near Western Boulevard. Note that there is a now a gate on Dan Allen Drive under the railroad bridge just north of Bragaw Dorm; this gate is closed before 5PM on weekdays, but will be open after 5PM and all day on weekends.

Delegation Registration, unloading, and parking will occur at the Avent Ferry Complex for those staying at this Complex.

Volleyball and Powerlifting will occur on the main campus of N.C. State University. The directions below are for general parking at the Dan Allen Parking Deck for Sullivan or Lee Dormitories, Delegation Registration, Volleyball and Powerlifting. Volleyball will be located at Carmichael Gymnasium located at 2611 Cates Avenue (919-515-7529). Carmichael Gym is a 10 minute walk or less from the parking deck or any of the dormitories: from the Parking Deck, walk toward Dan Allen Drive, turn right onto Dan Allen Drive, go 0.1+ mile, turn left onto Cates Avenue, go 0.2+ miles and Carmichael Gym will be on your right before the traffic signal. Powerlifting will be located at the Witherspoon Student Center at 2810 Cates Avenue. After turning left onto Cates Avenue in the above directions for Volleyball, Witherspoon Student Center is the first building on the left. PLEASE NOTE THE DIRECTIONS ON PAGE 5 IF YOU ARE DROPPING OFF ATHLETES AT WITHERSPOON STUDENT CENTER PRIOR TO PARKING IN DAN ALLEN DECK!!!

Wood Dorm will be used for wheelchair/overflow and is located off Morrill Drive between Western Boulevard and Cates Avenue.

* Take Exit #295 for Gorman Street. * Turn left onto Gorman Street. Drive 3.0 miles across Avent Ferry Road and Western Boulevard to the intersection with Sullivan Drive. * Use the map on Page 4 to be directed to the appropriate lot.

* At US 64 milepost #419, stay in the left two lanes onto I-440 East and US 64 West toward Durham/Benson.

N. C. State University Vicinity Map Venues and Lots Lee Lot (off Sullivan Drive): Delegation registration and unloading/loading for Lee Dorm. Delegation check-in will be at Lee Dorm near Lee Lot. North Bragaw Lot (off Thurman Drive): Delegation registration and unloading/loading for Sullivan Dorm. Avent Ferry Complex/Lot: Unloading/loading for Avent Ferry Complex. West Deck: Primary parking for cars and vans for Sullivan and Lee Dorms. Lower Wolf Village Deck: Bus parking off Faucette Dr. for Sullivan and Lee Dorms.

Dan Allen Deck: Parking for Volleyball and Powerlifting on Saturday and Sunday. All remaining directions to/from N.C. State are via Dan Allen Deck assuming the gate is open (after 5PM on Friday and anytime Saturday or Sunday).

Carmichael Gym: Team Volleyball and Volleyball Skills venue.

Witherspoon: Powerlifting venue. Directions to Drop Off: If you are dropping off Athletes prior to parking in the Dan Allen Deck please use to the following directions after exiting I-40 onto Gorman Street. After traveling north on Gorman Street for 1.2 miles, turn right onto Avent Ferry Road. Drive 1.4 miles on Avent Ferry Road and cross over Western Boulevard and the road will change names to Morrill Drive. Drive 0.3 miles down Morrill Drive and you will reach a traffic signal. Proceed straight through the signal and the road will veer to the left and change names to Cates Avenue. Drive 0.3 miles on Cates Avenue and the athlete drop-off will be on the right. After dropping off athletes proceed to the end of Cates Avenue and turn right onto Dan Allen Drive. After driving under the railroad tracks, Dan Allen Parking Deck will be on your left.

Talley Student Center: Saturday night dance and Olympic Town venue. The drop off area is in front of Reynolds Coliseum (adjacent to Talley Student Center to the east) on Dunn Avenue. Directions to Drop Off: Within NCSU Main Campus, turn onto Cates Avenue from Dan Allen Drive. Drive 0.3 miles (you will pass Carmichael Gymnasium on your right and Talley Student Center on your left) and you will come to a signalized intersection with Morrill

General Directions

Drive. Turn left to stay on Cates Avenue and drive another 0.25 miles to a signalized intersection with Pullen Road. Turn left onto Pullen Road. Make your next left onto Dunn Avenue. Dunn Avenue will dead end in front of Reynolds Coliseum at the drop off. Attendees may park in designated spaces that DO NOT require Saturday parking permits in the surface lot or deck beside Reynolds Coliseum. Shuttles will be available from the Lee/Sullivan Dorms and Avent Ferry Complex. The map on the next page displays the N. C. State University venues and parking decks. Please note that pedestrians can utilize Cates Avenue (in the middle of the map) to reach the Witherspoon Student Center, Carmichael Gymnasium, and Talley Student Center from the Lee/Sullivan Dorm and Fountain Dining Hall Area.

Avent Ferry Complex * Exit the Dan Allen Parking Deck toward Dan Allen Drive. Turn right onto Dan Allen Drive. Drive 0.4 miles. * Turn left at a traffic signal onto Western Boulevard. Drive 0.2 miles. * Turn right at the next traffic signal onto Avent Ferry Road. Drive 0.1 miles and turn right into the Avent Ferry Complex (follow the signs).

Walnut Creek Amphitheatre (Opening Ceremonies) * Exit the Dan Allen Parking Deck toward Dan Allen Drive. Turn right onto Dan Allen Drive. Drive 0.4 miles.

General Directions

* Turn left at a traffic signal onto Western Boulevard. Drive 2.1 miles past the WRAL TV Station toward Downtown Raleigh. * Exit right onto S. Dawson Street via the ramp to S. Saunders St. Drive 1.4+ miles toward I-40. * Go under the I-40 bridge and immediately turn left onto I-40 East toward I-440. Drive 1.9+ miles. * To avoid interference with Torch Run traffic, AVOID Exit #300, and take Exit #303 for Jones Sausage Road instead. * At the end of the ramp, turn left onto Jones Sausage Road (beware of road construction drums in the area). Drive 1.6+ miles. * Turn left at a traffic signal onto Rock Quarry Road. Drive 0.9+ miles, then turn right into the Walnut Creek Amphitheatre driveway.

Triangle Aquatics Center * Exit the Dan Allen Parking Deck toward Dan Allen Drive. Turn right onto Dan Allen Drive. Drive 0.4 miles. * Turn right at a traffic signal onto Western Boulevard. Drive 1.0 miles. * After passing Method Road (Subway and Cook-Out Restaurants), stay in the right lane and turn right onto the I-440 Exit Ramp. Once on the ramp, take the split to the left for I-440 West/US 1 South (will be a left-hand merge with I-440). Drive 2.0 miles. * Take Exit #1 for I-40 Durham/Benson, and then Exit #1B for I-40 West RDU Airport/Durham. Drive 1.7 miles. * Take Exit #291 for Cary and turn south toward Cary and Cary Towne Center. * Continue on Cary Towne Boulevard. Drive 0.7 miles. * Turn left at the first traffic signal onto Convention Drive. Drive 0.1 miles, then turn left onto the ring road around the mall (Cary Towne Center). * Drive 0.2 miles on the ring road to a three-way stop sign. * Parking is available at the mall parking lot on the right, or for drop- off or disabled parking, turn left at the three-way stop sign. * The aquatics center is straight ahead on the right.

ENeRGy Kidz (Gymnastics) * Exit the Dan Allen Parking Deck toward Dan Allen Drive. Turn right onto Dan Allen Drive. Drive 0.4 miles. * Turn right at a traffic signal onto Western Boulevard. Drive 1.0 miles. * After passing Method Road (Subway and Cook-Out Restaurants), stay in the right lane and turn right onto the I-440 Exit Ramp. Once on the ramp, take the split to the right and merge onto I-440 East Beltline toward Wake Forest.

* Take Exit #10 for Wake Forest Road. * Turn left at the bottom of the ramp onto Wake Forest Road. Drive 0.9 miles. * Turn right at a traffic signal onto New Hope Church Road. Drive 0.6 miles. * Turn left at a traffic signal onto Atlantic Avenue. Drive 1.5 miles. * Turn right onto Atlantic Springs Road just past Thad’s Carpet One. * ENeRGy Kidz (Gymnastics) is located on the right.

Buffaloe Road Park (Softball Team) * Exit the Dan Allen Parking Deck toward Dan Allen Drive. Turn right onto Dan Allen Drive. Drive 0.4 miles. * Turn right at a traffic signal onto Western Boulevard. Drive 1.0 miles. * After passing Method Road (Subway and Cook-Out Restaurants), stay in the right lane and turn right onto the I-440 Exit Ramp. Once on the ramp, take the split to the right and merge onto I-440 East Beltline toward Wake Forest. * Take Exit #11 for US 1/US 401 Capital Boulevard. After exiting the Beltline, bear left onto US 1 toward Wake Forest. * Continue north on US 1/US 401 Capital Boulevard about 1.8 miles. * Turn right onto Buffaloe Road at the traffic signal just after a CVS Pharmacy. (The last traffic signal prior to the US 1 and US 401 split.) * Continue on Buffaloe Road about 3 miles. Buffaloe Road Park will be on your right just before crossing the Neuse River.

Lions Park (Softball Skills) * Exit the Dan Allen Parking Deck toward Dan Allen Drive. Turn right onto Dan Allen Drive. Drive 0.4 miles. * Turn right at a traffic signal onto Western Boulevard. Drive 1.0 miles. * After passing Method Road (Subway and Cook-Out Restaurants), stay in the right lane and turn right onto the I-440 Exit Ramp. Once on the ramp, take the split to the right and merge onto I-440 East Beltline toward Wake Forest. * Take Exit #11 for US 1/US 401 Capital Boulevard. After exiting the Beltline, bear right onto US 401 South toward Downtown. * Continue south on US 401 Capital Boulevard about 1.2 miles. * Turn left onto Fenton Street well beyond the First Citizens Bank and the Salvation Army Complex (there will be a sign for Lions Park). * Continue straight on Fenton Street through the traffic signal. Drive 0.4 miles. * Turn right onto Watkins Street. Drive less than 0.1 mile. * Turn left onto Dennis Avenue. The Lions Park entrance will be immediately on the right.

St. Michael Catholic Church (Cheerleading) * Exit the Dan Allen Parking Deck toward Dan Allen Drive. Turn right onto Dan Allen Drive. Drive 0.4 miles.

* Turn right at a traffic signal onto Western Boulevard. Drive 1.0 miles. * After passing Method Road (Subway and Cook-Out Restaurants), stay in the right lane and turn right onto the I-440 Exit Ramp. Once on the ramp, take the split to the left for I-440 West/US 1 South (will be a left-hand merge with I-440). Drive 2.0 miles. * Take Exit #1 for I-40 Durham/Benson, and then Exit #1B for I-40 West RDU Airport/Durham. Drive 1.7 miles. * Take Exit #290 for Highway 54 towards Cary. * Turn left at the end of the exit onto Highway 54 and drive 2.3 miles. * Turn left onto Harrison Avenue and Drive 0.3 miles. * Turn right onto Chatham Street. * Drive 0.4 miles west on Chatham Street and you will enter a roundabout. Proceed ¾ of the way through the roundabout and stay on Chatham Street. * Drive 0.4 miles on Chatham Street after exiting the roundabout and turn right onto High House Road. * Drive 1.6 miles on High House Road and turn right into the parking lot.

St. Augustine’s University Stadium/Track (Athletics)  Exit the Dan Allen Parking Deck toward Dan Allen Drive. Turn right onto Dan Allen Drive. Drive 0.4 miles.  Turn left at a traffic signal onto Western Boulevard. Drive 2.0 miles.  Western Boulevard will become Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at an interchange. Continue straight on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard 1.9 miles.  Turn left at a traffic signal onto Rock Quarry Road. Drive 1.3 miles (the road will change names to Tarboro Street) across the New Bern Avenue and Edenton Street traffic signals.  Turn left onto Oakwood Avenue and make an immediate right onto State Street.  After driving 0.5 miles, the stadium will be on your right.

NC Highway Patrol Training Academy on Tryon Road (Cycling)  Exit the Dan Allen Parking Deck toward Dan Allen Drive. Turn right onto Dan Allen Drive. Drive 0.4 miles.  Turn left at a traffic signal onto Western Boulevard. Drive 2.0 miles.  Western Boulevard will become Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at an interchange. Continue straight on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard 0.3 miles.

General Directions

 Turn right at a traffic signal onto Blount Street. Drive 2.8 miles (the road will change names to Hammond Road).  Turn left onto Tryon Road at a traffic signal. Drive 0.4 miles and the NC Highway Patrol Training Academy will be on your right.

Buffaloe Lanes of Cary on High House Road (Bowling) * Exit the Dan Allen Parking Deck toward Dan Allen Drive. Turn right onto Dan Allen Drive. Drive 0.4 miles. * Turn right at a traffic signal onto Western Boulevard. Drive 1.0 miles. * After passing Method Road (Subway and Cook-Out Restaurants), stay in the right lane and turn right onto the I-440 Exit Ramp. Once on the ramp, take the split to the left for I-440 West/US 1 South (will be a left-hand merge with I-440). Drive 2.0 miles. * Take Exit #1 for I-40 Durham/Benson, and then Exit #1B for I-40 West RDU Airport/Durham. Drive 1.4 miles. * Turn right at a traffic signal onto Avent Ferry Road (the right lane will drop onto Avent Ferry Road at the signal). Drive 1.2 miles (pass straight past the Varsity Drive traffic signal). * Look for the traffic signal with Centennial Parkway (a Burger King will be on the right just past the traffic signal). Look for the signs and turn left into the Avent Ferry Complex beyond the Burger King. The Avent Ferry Complex is across Avent Ferry Road from the large Mission Valley Shopping Center.
