Authorised Operators of Prescribed Breath Analysis Instrument

I, Jeanette Kerr, Commander, Professional Development Command, in pursuance of regulation 59 of the Traffic Regulations, being of the opinion that each member of the Police Force whose name appears in the attached Schedule is: -

(a) trained in the use of a prescribed breath analysis instrument known as the Drager Alcotest 7110; and

(b) capable of using that prescribed breath analysis instrument correctly,

Authorise those members of the Police Force to use that prescribed breath analysis instrument for the purpose of the Traffic Act.

Approval of Identification Devices

I, Sharon Louise Kearney, Registrar:

(a) under section 16(1) of the Livestock Act and with reference to section 43 of the Interpretation Act, revoke all instruments approving identification devices that are in force immediately before the date of this instrument; and

Members - Expressions of Interest

The Minister for Business invites nominations from persons within the Northern Territory who:

 have a wide range of experience across major industry sectors

 are representatives of organisations representing employees or employers

 have expertise in the rehabilitation of injured workers or the insurance industry

The Workers’ Rehabilitation and Compensation Advisory Council comprises of the person constituting the Work Health Authority and no more than ten members appointed by the Minister.

The function of the Council is to:

 keep the operation of the Workers’ Rehabilitation and Compensation Act under review

 make recommendations to the Minister on possible improvements to the administration of the Act, or the statutory scheme for the rehabilitation and compensation of injured workers in the Territory

 carry out investigations, at the request of the Minister, into questions about the rehabilitation and compensation of injured workers and to report to the Minister on the results of the investigation

 perform any other advisory functions relating to workers’ rehabilitation and compensation as the Minister directs

The term of office is not to exceed two years, as determined by the Minister and sitting fees are available to eligible members.

Work Health and Safety (National Uniform Legislation) Act 2011

Work Health Safety Inspectors – Appointment

I, Stephen Hugh Gelding, the Work Health Authority:

(a) under section 156 of the Work Health and Safety (National Uniform Legislation) Act 2011, appoint the people named in the Schedule to be Work Health and Safety inspectors on condition that under section 161 of the Work Health and Safety (National Uniform Legislation) Act 2011 the people named in the Schedule only exercise powers under the direct supervision of an inspector appointed under section 156 of the Work Health and Safety (National Uniform Legislation) Act 2011 without conditions.

Appointment of Officers

I, Stephen Hugh Gelding, the Competent Authority:

(a) under section 23(1) of the Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road and Rail (National uniform Legislation) Act and with reference to section 44 (1) of the Interpretation Act, terminate all appointments of authorised officers in force immediately before the date of this instrument; and

(b) under section 23(1) of the Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road and Rail (National uniform Legislation) Act, appoint the people named in the Schedule to be authorised officers and exercise the powers under:

a) sections 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 62, 63, 64, 65, 86, 88, 90, 93, 95, 96 and 99 of the Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road and Rail (National uniform Legislation) Act; and

The power to amend a notice pursuant to sections 88 and 96 is restricted to minor amendments:

(i) for clarification; or (ii) to correct errors or references; or (iii) to reflect changes of address or other circumstances.
