Kaohsiung Philharmonic Cultural & Arts Foundation 2014 Kaohsiung Symphony Orchestra Audition

Available Position: 1. Principal Cello: 1 Position 2. Cello (Section): 1 Position 3. Violin (Section): 1 Position 4. Clarinet /Bass Clarinet: 1 Position 5. French Horn/ High Horn: 1 Position There will be a waiting list for all the positions or it will stay vacant if none meets the audition standard.

Qualification: 1. A bachelor’s degree in music or above 2. Experience as a musician in Taiwan’s professional orchestra or abroad

Deadline: Please send the application form by July 11th, 2014 during the office hour from 9am-12pm, 2pm-5pm Monday to Friday.

Registration & Audition Process: Required Material: Application form, Resume with detailed performance history and award record, ID copy, degree diploma (Foreign diploma has to be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs). The Above documents have to be submitted to the Da-Dong Art Center, Kaohsiung Philharmonic Cultural & Arts Foundation by 5pm Friday July 11th, 2014 . Audition Process: 1. Preliminary Audition 2. Final Audition

Date, Time & Place: Preliminary audition for all positions will be held from 9am Friday, July 18th to Sunday July 20th on the 4th floor at the Kaohsiung City Concert Hall. The address is No.99, 4th floor, Ho-Hsi Rd, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The KPACF Committee reserves the right to change the audition schedule according to the number of applicants.

Audition Repertoire: *Please bring personal accompanists when auditioning. Preliminary Audition: Orchestral Excerpts Final Audition: Assigned Repertoire & Orchestral Excerpts The applicant will be notified the results by mail and the orchestra will post the results on its website.

Salary: Salary for the principal cello position will be NT52, 960 per month. Other positions including cello, violin, clarinet and French horn will be NT41, 640 per month.

Employment: The chosen person will have a 9-month trial period of the contract. Depending on the trial period, the person, if approved will be given a formal employment contract.

Note: 1. Please check the orchestra website for the application form, assigned repertoire & orchestral excerpts on June 11th , 2014. The repertoire will be available on June 20th on the website at http://kpcaf.khcc.gov.tw/. 2. Please come 10 minutes early for registration on the date of the audition. Those who do not show up will forfeit the right to audition. 3. The audition schedule will be posted on the orchestra website on Tuesday July 15th at 10 am. The audition schedule will not be posted in advance; the order of auditions will be determined by the drawing. 4. Employment is to begin on August 18th, 2014. If the person is not able to come on August 18th, please submit documents for extension by August 4th, 2014, after the KPCAF reviews the documents and approves it, the applicant will be notified with further information. The person who does not notify the office by August 18th with a proper reason, s/he will be regarded as not taking the position. 5. The person should comply with the rules of KPCAF. If the person cannot comply with the rules for some reason, the committee will terminate the contract by law.
