IMAGINE is a mental health charity, well known for providing a socially inclusive service called ‘Mainstream’, which has achieved national recognition. We have opportunities in our Redbridge service.

Our Redbridge service runs a range of day opportunity activities from 1:1 support planning, community based activities, developing peer groups and drop-in services.

RECOVERY WORKER Ref: 16/21 Based in London Borough of Redbridge 30 hrs per week (flexible) times and days can be negotiated Fixed term Maternity Cover; Mid September 2016 to Mid April 2017

Salary: £18,102.24 p.a. (including London Weighting)

We require highly motivated person/s to work with a team of Recovery Workers to assist service users with mental health issues on a personalised basis to achieve their recovery and social inclusion goals. You will be required to jointly develop action plans, support people to achieve their goals and work through any setbacks they encounter. You will need to be able to motivate and empower people to consider their goals, take ownership and believe in their abilities. Being able to maintain professional boundaries is essential.

The nature of the role includes support with budgeting, managing their mental health, to develop life skills and to support service users into community opportunities. You will need to be able to manage a caseload, to achieve outcomes and to maintain client records and statistics (both paper and database based).

You will also be rota’d to support and develop drop-in services, community based activities and peer groups, therefore will need some experience in facilitating groups. You will need to be flexible in terms of work location and hours as you will work out in the community and may support out of hours community based groups and support individuals to access evening/weekend mainstream community opportunities.
