Job Purpose
1. To provide a diverse range of accurate and timely Qlikview applications from student data and other data sources for use by University managers in decision making processes
2. To be involved in the design and employment of processes to provide data and analyses to report through QLIKVIEW for production of applications throughout the student lifecycle. This will include student cohort analysis To provide maintenance
3. To be involved in eh design and employment.
4. To provide specialist advice and guidance to staff working in the SAA work-stream and Strategy and Planning Team on the creation, monitoring and validation of student data and other data sets.
5. To work closely with specialist staff in iSolutions on the design and configuration of the Banner system (and other corporate systems) and the Reporting Team to ensure that they support the University’s business requirements in student data management.
1 Key accountabilities / Primary responsibilities % Time
1. To design appropriate Qlikview applications to deliver accurate and timely data drawn } from the University’s student records system and other data sources in appropriate } formats to support the monitoring of students throughout the student lifecycle including } recruitment, progression ; and applications from other data sets and sources within the 70 University } To be involved with the development of management information that supports the } University’s strategic aims in widening participation and encouraging social diversity } amongst its student population; } 2. To provide expert support and guidance to colleagues with responsibility for the } maintenance of student data to ensure that data quality is maximised; } } } 3. To liaise with external staff to ensure the University submits fit for purpose and timely } statutory returns; } } 4. To establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff in Faculties and related 30 areas of Professional Services so that the data is } i) provided by Faculties in accordance with agreed conventions; } ii) interpreted and understood by users in appropriate ways; } } 5. To work closely with staff in the Student and Academic Administration and Strategy and } Planning and in Faculties, to provide advice on use of the application. } 6. To manage time effectively and coordinate own work. Monitor and report regularly to the } Manager on current productivity and standards; } } 7. To attend relevant internal and external meetings to represent the work of the } Management Information Team and to maintain up to date awareness of best practice in } and the provision of management information; } } 8. To engage pro-actively on appropriate projects as required by senior staff.
