EX26LED Infrared Illuminator A&E Specifications – version 1.0

The infrared illuminator shall be LED type, compact and suitable for use in harsh weather environments.

1 The physical attributes of the infrared illuminator shall meet the following design and performance specifications: 1.1 The infrared illuminator shall be LED type. 1.2 The infrared illuminator shall have a high-efficiency infrared array comprised of 60 LEDs. 1.3 The infrared illuminator’s LEDs shall have resistance to shock and vibration. 1.4 The infrared illuminator’s LEDs shall be capable of high energy output. 1.5 The infrared illuminator shall be compact, robust and lightweight for easy handling. 1.6 The infrared illuminator shall be no larger than 91mm (W) x 89mm (H) x 150mm (L) (3.6” x 3.5” x 5.9”). 1.7 The infrared illuminator shall be cast and extruded aluminum. 1.8 The infrared illuminator shall have a black baked enamel finish suitable for all-weather operation. 1.9 The infrared illuminator shall weigh no more than 1.8 lbs (0.8 kg). 1.10 The infrared illuminator shall operate in temperatures ranging from -50ºC to +60ºC (-58ºF to 140ºF) 1.11 The infrared illuminator shall be equipped with 2 m (6.6 ft) of cabling connecting lead. 1.12 The infrared illuminator shall be certified by a nationally recognized testing laboratory to CSA / NEMA Type 4X. 1.13 The infrared illuminator shall be certified by a nationally recognized testing laboratory to UL Std No 50 - Enclosures for Electrical Equipment. 1.14 The infrared illuminator shall be certified by a nationally recognized testing laboratory to UL Std No 2044 - Commercial Closed-Circuit Television Equipment. 1.15 The infrared illuminator shall be certified by a nationally recognized testing laboratory to CSA Std C22.2 No 0-M1991 - General Requirements, Electrical Code, Part II. 1.16 The infrared illuminator shall be certified by a nationally recognized testing laboratory to CSA Std C22.2 No 1-M94 - Audio, Video, and Similar Equipment. 1.17 The camera shall be certified by a nationally recognized testing laboratory to CSA Std C22.2 No 94-M91 - Special Purpose Enclosures.

2 The infrared illuminator shall have the following operational design and performance specifications: 2.1 The infrared illuminator shall provide infrared illumination for up to 20m (65ft) using a 30° beam pattern, 850nm wavelength and appropriate high sensitivity CCD cameras and lenses. 2.2 The infrared illuminator shall provide the performance stated in 2.1 above under zero lux conditions. 2.3 The infrared illuminator shall be available in wavelengths of 850nm or 940nm. 2.4 The infrared illuminator shall be available in beam patterns of 30º (medium) or 60º (wide). 2.5 The infrared illuminator shall have photocell-controlled on/off switching. 2.6 The photocell shall be sensitivity adjustable. 2.7 The infrared illuminator shall be user-adjustable for output intensity. 2.8 The infrared illuminator shall operate in harsh weather conditions. 2.9 The infrared illuminator shall operate independently of any cooling fan or similar device, either internal or external. 2.10 The infrared illuminator shall operate with high efficiency. 2.11 The infrared illuminator shall operate with high reliability.

3 The infrared illuminator shall have the following electrical design and performance specifications: 3.1 The infrared illuminator shall accept 12 VDC or 24 VAC operating voltage. 3.2 The infrared illuminator shall consume no more than 15 Watts.

4 The infrared illuminator shall have the following support information and equipment shipped with it: 4.1 The infrared illuminator shall have an installation manual. 4.2 The infrared illuminator shall include a basic U-bracket for ease of installation.
