1. Care of an existing householder (Only applicable to development control zone 1) To satisfy the qualifying criteria for development control zone 1 on the basis of providing care to an existing householder as set out in the County Development Plan 2003 – 2009, the following is required as documentary evidence.  Letter from a GP detailing the need for care to the existing householder.  Land registry certificate and landholding maps (showing full land holding)

Son or Daughter of a land owner (Applicable to Development Control Zone 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) To satisfy the qualifying criteria for development control zones as set out in the County Development Plan 2003 – 2009, the following is required as documentary evidence. 3. Residency (Applicable to Development Control Zone 2, 3, 4, 5) To satisfy the qualifying criteria for development control zones as set out in the County Development Plan 2003 – 2009, the following is required as documentary evidence.

 Original Long Birth Cert  Letter from local clergy stating the place of birth, the address of the family residence at that time if different from current address, including any other relevant information e.g. primary school attended  School records stating the number of years attending the school and any other relevant information.

4. Work (Applicable to Development Control Zone 5 and Category 11 Development Centres) To satisfy the qualifying criteria for development control zone 5 as set out in the County Development Plan 2003 – 2009, the following is required as documentary evidence.

 Letter from employer stating the address of the employment and number of years’ service.

5. Category 11 Development Centre

To satisfy the qualifying criteria in Development Centres the applicant has to demonstrate a tie to the County

Local area is defined as an area falling within a radius of 4kms from the qualifying family residence. Where the qualifying area is reduced by reason of its coastal location the 4 km radius may be extended to include an additional area equivalent to the area lost.

Housing Need shall be established where the applicant does not currently own a house, or where their current accommodation, as determined by the local authority, is insufficient to meet his/hers accommodation needs.

Longstanding resident – A person who has resided for 10 years or more in an area.
