Propel Braddock Hills High School Uniform Policy 2014 – 2015

POLICY GUIDELINES

SOLID-COLORED TOPS with collars  Blue colored polo style shirts or oxfords (short or long sleeve)  Yellow colored polo style shirts or oxfords (short or long sleeve)  White colored polo style shirts or oxfords (short or long sleeve)  Quarter-size logos acceptable

INAPPROPRIATE  NO shirts without collars  NO logos larger than the size of a quarter  NO designs are to be worn  NO chest cleavage is to be shown at all

BOTTOMS  Blue colored dress slacks/skirts/shorts (knee length)  Black colored dress slacks/skirts/shorts (knee length)  Khaki colored dress slacks/skirts/shorts (knee length)

INAPPROPRIATE  NO denim pants or cargo pants  NO form fitting pants; pants must fit loosely on the legs  NO pants above the knee; this includes shorts and skirts  NO leggings or jeggings of any sort

BELTS  Males: A standard belt with a standard buckle, holes and a loop MUST be worn at all times.

INAPPROPRIATE  NO pants beneath the natural waistline. Under NO circumstances is any student allowed to sag their pants or expose their underwear. Sagging or otherwise revealing undergarments will be considered indecent exposure and can result in suspension from school.

FOOTWEAR  Dress shoes or sneakers

SOLID-COLORED, DESIGN-FREE OUTERWEAR  Blue, Black, Brown, Gray, White sweaters, cardigans, or blazers may be worn over polo or oxford shirts

INAPPROPRIATE  NO jackets, coats or denim vests  NO hooded attire of any kind  NO sweaters or cardigans with multiple colors, logos, writing or design  NO hats or head coverings (du-rags, headbands, scarves)—unless for religious reasons and only with supporting documentation/approval

PLEASE FOLLOW THE STATED GUIDELINES FOR THE STANDARD UNIFORM POLICY. THE UNIFORM POLICY WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.

CONSEQUENCES FOR UNIFORM POLICY VIOLATION

 First Violation: The student will be issued a lunch detention and the parents/guardians will be contacted. A dress code violation letter will be sent home to be signed by a parent/guardian. The student must report the following day with the signed letter to be admitted to school.

 Second Violation: The student will be issued a lunch detention as well as a one (1) day suspension to be served the next school day; the parents/guardians will be contacted.

 Third/Subsequent Violations: The student will be issued a lunch detention and will be suspended for (3) days for insubordination/repeated violations. A parent/guardian will be required to meet with the principal before the student can return to school; therefore, an appointment must be scheduled.

STUDENTS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE REGULAR SCHOOL DAY OR ANY SCHOOL RELATED ACTIVITY UNLESS HE OR SHE IS DRESSED IN OBSERVANCE OF THE SCHOOL WIDE DRESS CODE.

DRESS DOWN DAYS

Dress down days will be announced and are a privilege. If special themed spirit days are scheduled, information will be shared in advance.
