Science Fair It is time to sign up for the Science Fair! Please email me and give me your child's name, grade and age ([email protected]). Also, mail the non-refundable $10.00 fee* to:

Heidi Sellers 6925 Valley Lake Road Cottondale, AL 35453

*This fee covers food, ribbons, certificates, and a donation to the judges who will be traveling from UWA. Last year, there was no left over money after covering these expenses. If we have an excess this year, the money will be saved for next year's science fair.

(see the last two e-letters for details on the science fair)

Homeschool Family Needs a Home in Which to School :) We are incredibly thankful that we just sold our house -- HURRAY!!! We intend to start building in the Elrod area asap, BUT we have to find a short-term rental until our house is built. Does anyone know of a house someone would rent us for about 6 months with the possibility of month- to-month after that? It could be an actual rental, it could be a house that's for sale and is empty, etc. If it's a home that's for sale, I'd be willing to continue to show it for the owners. We just need somewhere to live. Any leads for me? Thanks! Paige Poland 349-1238 (home) and 792-0868 (cell). Email is [email protected]

THE Graduation Ceremony This is the last call for including yourself in a THE graduation ceremony. If it's going to happen the families need to get together to plan and order caps/gowns. These are the seniors who have expressed an interest in this ceremony so far: Jessica Smith, Abigail Johnston, Alex Markel, Khristian Smiley, Marsaliss Taylor, and Lauren Cooley. Let me know sooner than asap if you're interested. ([email protected])

Children's Theatre If your child has expressed an interest in theatre, Tuscaloosa Children's Theatre is a good place to start. They are producing "Willy Wonka" this spring so there will be a need for many children. Every year they also provide the following workshop to help children prepare for an audition: Ever wondered what it is like to audition for a show? If you have auditioned, have you ever wondered what the judges actually thought or how you might have improved? The Tuscaloosa Children's Theatre Mock Audition Workshop provides both experienced auditioners and those who have never auditioned before with a chance to participate in a mock audition and to receive feedback from our theatre staff about their efforts. The Workshop will provide examples of good and bad auditions, tips on how the audition process works, a basic introduction to the audition process, and the opportunity to try out without worrying about the consequences.

The Workshop will have two parts - a demonstration element and an audition element. There will be audition and dance demonstrations, as well as an opportunity for each participant to audition. To prepare, each participant should prepare 16 bars of a song and a monologue (speech, story, poem) no longer than 60 seconds. Be sure to come ready to dance, ready to sing and ready to act! (and don't forget your music- a piano part or CD is requested - no recorded voices, please).

There will be an independent judge (will not be a judge for "Willy Wonka") who will provide feedback to each participant. So start working on your monologue and song, receive some good feedback this Thursday, and then attend the auditions for TCT's production of "Willy Wonka" on Thursday and Friday, February 2 & 3 from 5 - 8 p.m. at Tuscaloosa Academy.
