NOCTI Online Sample Questions Study Guide Info Time Allotment: approx. 45 min total (15 min for setup, 30 min for sample questions)

Attached you will find a list of user codes and passwords to access your online sample questions. These user codes and passwords are assigned to students by name and number. These numbers are unique to each student and will also be used to identify them on the end-of-the-year assessments.

Along with the overview of the assessment found in the study guides, the online sample questions may be used to help students experience an online format and to be introduced to the test question format/content. The step-by-step instructions below will help you to access these questions.

Please see either Shawna or Arlene if you have any questions or to add a student.

To access online sample questions:

1. Go to the NOCTI testing website http://testing.nocti.org/ 2. Click “log into online testing” 3. Click “Take an assessment”

This brings you to the log in screen where you will have them input their user code, password and last name.

4. Have students click ‘next’ through the screen that should already be marked practice test and secondary student.

5. Students can enter their participation information with their full name and assigned participation id # (note: these #s are unique to each student and will also be used to identify them on the end-of-the-year assessments)

They should click ‘next’ after they input. 6. Students will then be prompted to input demographic information.

They should click ‘next’ after they input.

7. This will bring them to an instructions screen where they can click on ‘begin test’ to start. It will give them 30 minutes to complete.

8. They may select answers to these sample questions and click ‘next’ to move on to the next question. At any time in the test they can also click on the summary button. This will tell them the items that are complete and incomplete. They can click back on any question to go back to it during the test.

Note: The actual tests can be ordered with extra time built in and text-to-speech (so if they need their test read to them they can wear headphones and click a microphone button to have the computer read the question and responses.

Good luck and call me with any questions. Thanks, Shawna
