COURSE OBJECTIVES:

These lectures are intended as an introduction to the major developments in German cinema since 1990. They address the aesthetic strategies used by filmmakers, as well as thematic issues including the portrayal of German history and the image of contemporary Germany. The course will be of particular interest to those studying (or intending to study) film for Papers VIII, XII, and XIV.
