Student Assistance Team Functional Analysis This tool assists your team in clarifying and prioritizing internal and external factors impacting team success. In order to realize maximum benefit with this tool, each team member should complete a functional analysis individually, with a composite functional analysis created that includes the combined factors identified by each team member.

• Internal factors include those factors generated within the team including conflict resolution processes, paperwork, lack of team member attendance or tardiness to meeting, failure to fulfill roles and responsibilities, enabling practices, not following protocols. etc. • Environmental factors include those factors that are generated outside the team including other building assignments causing team members to miss meetings, lack of sufficient meeting time, staff members, students, families not understanding the role of SAP, lack of school and community resources, etc.
